In the morning, Ain arrived at school a little earlier than usual. As she made her way to the classroom, she noticed Jay standing by the school notice board. He was reading something intently.

"Good morning," Ain greeted with a smile and stand beside him.

"Morning."

Ain leaned closer to see what had caught his attention. The notice board displayed information about an upcoming academic competition.

"Are you thinking of joining the competition?" she asked.

"I've already signed up. It's a math and science competition. I'm preparing for it."

"That's amazing! You must really be into those subjects."

"I like challenges. They help me improve a lot."

"I love that. I've always been terrible at math, so I can't imagine participating in something like that."

She laughed, but Jay remained serious.

"You can get better with practice," Jay said.

"So, do you always come to school this early?"

Jay nodded.

"It's quieter in the mornings. I can focus better."

"Do you ever hang out with your friends after school?" Ain asked.

"I don't have many friends."

"Why?"

"Most people find it difficult to relate to me. I prefer to spend my time on things I consider more productive."

"Everyone needs a break sometimes," Ain said. "It's okay to let loose and just enjoy your life, okay?"

Jay didn't respond immediately. His eyes flickered briefly as if her words had struck a chord, but then he turned back to the notice board.

"I have my own way of enjoying things," he finally said.

"Well, if you ever need someone to hang out with, I'm here."

"Thank you," he said.

Later that afternoon, Ain was walking past the library when she spotted Jay sitting at a table, surrounded by textbooks.

Ain walked over to his table and took a seat across from him.

"Do you need something?" he asked.

"Nope, just thought I'd join you. I figured you could use some company."

"But I'm studying."

Jay blinked, clearly confused.

"You can still study while I'm here. I promise I won't be a distraction."

Ain chuckled. She pulled out one of her own notebooks and pretended to focus on her own work, though she was more interested in how Jay would react.

To her surprise, Jay didn't protest. He simply went back to his books. Ain found herself admiring his ability to tune out everything around him when he was focused.
