"Hey Ain. What are you doing today?"

"Uh, nothing much... why? It's barely nine in the morning."

"Perfect! I thought you might say that. How about an adventure?"

"Adventure? What kind of adventure?"

"Just trust me. I'll be at your place in an hour. Wear something comfortable, okay?"

She got up, hurried through her morning routine and dressed in a pair of jeans.

"Ready?"

"I guess I don't have much of choice, do I?"

Jay laughed.

"Nope! Come on, let's go."

They go onto the bus.

Finally, after about twenty minutes, Jay pulled the stop card and they stepped off the bus near a sprawling park by the waterfront. Ain shocked after saw the blue ocean, sound of seagulls cawing overhead, and the scent of salt in the air.

"Jay? You brought me to the beach??"

"Yes, I figured you might like it. It's not too crowded today, and the weather's perfect."

"Oh My God! Jay, I really love it!"

They spent the morning wandering along the shore, picking up seashells, and skipping stones across the water.

After an hour, they found a small seaside café and decided to grab lunch. They chose a table outside, under a large umbrella and ordered some seafood pancakes and cold soda.

"Jay, what made you decide to bring me here?"

"I don't know... I guess I just wanted to do something different. And I wanted to see you smile like that."

Ain felt a blush creep up her cheeks and shocked by the honesty in his words.

"Well, mission accomplished."

As the afternoon sun began to dip, Jay suggested they rent bicycles from a nearby stand and explore more of the coastline.

They rode in comfortable silence. As the sun began to set, they stopped atop a small hill that overlooked the sea. The sky was painted in hues of orange, pink, and purple.

"It's so beautiful.."

Jay stood beside her and looked at her.

"Yes.. it's really beautiful.."

They stood there for a long moment, watching as the sun dipped lower. Ain felt a sense of peace settle over her, a quiet happiness she couldn't quite explain.

Without thinking, she took Jay's hand.

"Jay.. thanks for today. This is so... perfect."

"Anything for you."
