Title: Was It All For Nothing?
Author: Sarah_Hanguklover_13
Reviewer: CaitrwTitle: 5/5
The title fits the story quite well where it is relevant to not just the book but the plot as well.
Blurb: 3/5
The blurb details what the story is about however, it is too long where you could lose readers easily. It's important for some information that isn't as important to be left out that way the readers want to read it instead of knowing how the story might go.
Plot/ flow: 15/20
When it comes to the flow the story is really well put together by making sure that the chapters connect with skipping little to no time but still picking up on where the last chapter left off. However, the speed is a little too fast where it could use some character building or word building to slow it down a little bit. The plot remained consistent throughout the story where there was only supporting details added instead of swaying off the plot.
Character development: 5/5
I love the introduction of each character in the beginning. That way we are getting a feel of them and we can see how they develop over time. The author made the characters very reliable to the readers which made it easier to read since they could understand what the characters are going through. The development was slow and happened over time which was important that way it didn't happen all at once.
Grammar/punctuation: 4/10
There were quite a bit of run-on sentences that could be made into multiple sentences with some more detail to break it up and slow down the story. There are a lot of exclamation marks where they are not needed, with exclamation marks you do not want to overuse them. In some areas there is a duplication of words, for example in chapter 7 in the first paragraph there were two for's right next to each other. However, the author did a great job at making sure the story remained in the correct tense and used some strong words.
Readers enjoyment: 7/10
I enjoyed the story overall, it has a meet cute in it that I couldn't help but be a sucker for. I found it hard to follow along though with how fast it moved and having to go back and forth between the parentheses though.
Total: 39/55
Review:
Overall I enjoyed the book, the author made it really easy to read by connecting the chapters together even though it was multiple point of views. The story is perfect for readers who love a good meet cute and multiple point of views throughout the story. The only areas that I kept getting lost was with the going back and forth between the parentheses for the language changes (which was very appreciated for the English only readers) and with how fast the story moved. It would benefit the author to include some word building such as describing the scenery that way readers can visualize the area, character descriptions for example instead of just using that someone had black hair to explain the hues in it and instead of saying black hair use a different description word. In addition the author can make the scene last a little longer. However, the author did a great job with the book.
