"We all deserve this! A few days off and a proper celebration!" Allison uttered as she and Lila prepared snacks and drinks for the large table in the rented ballroom. They were all staying at a luxury hotel for the weekend.

It had been several weeks since the events of when they were to die, again. But like so many times before, they managed to come up with a plan B. And they did it again. They weren't sure when things would go wrong again, but they wanted to live for the here and now. At least for this weekend.

The only downside to surviving is the fact that there were a few other loose ends left up in the air. Like the seven years between Lola and Five that they spent together lost in time.

Lila may have returned home, but they'd been in separate rooms since the first night and Diego found the situation tense at the slightest. But if nothing else, at least Lila could make up a little for her lost time with the kids.

But not tonight, her kids were being watched by her parents who weren't at this post-apocalyptic party.

--

A chill ran down her spine as if she knew he was close. She looked back to the entrance and saw him.

Five walked confidently into the room, an unreadable expression on his face, holding a bottle of alcohol in one hand and with the other hand he held the hand of some young blonde woman she'd never seen before, walking beside him and looking around shyly.

Five wasn't wearing a suit, but jeans, sneakers and a white t-shirt.

Why did she get the feeling he did it because he knew how she liked him in the suit? But this... it wasn't bad at all.

Heat poured over Lila, and emotions swelled inside her like a tidal wave.

"Lila!" Allison's voice snapped her out of her reverie, and it was only then that she noticed that she had spilled a good portion of the contents on the table while pouring the drinks into the glasses.

"I... I'm sorry..." she began to clean up the mess with paper napkins. She could feel her heart pounding incredibly fast and her ears buzzing.

Allison noticed who she was looking at earlier and made a rather odd face about it. No one spoke out loud about what had happened, but everyone knew.

--

The night was in full swing. Eating, drinking and dancing.

Lila stood at the refreshment table watching the dance floor where Five was dancing with an unknown woman. She wasn't sure if she was imagining things, but she had the feeling that he looked at her very briefly several times. They were only brief seconds during the dance, but she could have sworn he was trying to provoke her. Which he was definitely succeeding in doing.

She could feel herself tense, her nails digging into her arm, the pressure of her nails partially cushioned by the sweater she was wearing, but she still seemed completely unaware of it.

Nor was she aware that she was being watched by Diego, who could see all too well who she was watching. He had to go pour himself another glass of alcohol. Any kind.

"Are you okay?" He echoed beside her.

"Eh?" She looked to see who was standing next to her, it was Luther. "Sorry, what did you say?"

"I was asking if you were okay."

"Yeah, I'm great!"

"You know..." he uttered, lowering his voice a little, "maybe it would be better if you..."

"Would you excuse me for a moment?"

Lila noticed that the blonde was heading for the restroom. She couldn't pass up this opportunity. And before Luther could breathe another sentence, Lila was gone.
