"Luna, how are you doing?"
"Luna!"
"Luna, would you like to try this?"
"Luna, look what I've made for you!"
I wandered through the narrow streets of Amsellhein, my senses overwhelmed by the shifters around me. Every few steps, I heard my name called out to me from every direction. The attention was almost too much to handle, yet the warmth in their voices brought a smile to my face.
I found myself pausing every few moments to return a smile, exchange a few kind words, or admire a handmade gift presented to me.
Leif and Rolf walked closely behind me, their presence reassuring in the sea of unfamiliar faces. I could sense their watchful eyes, though they were careful to give me space. Not far behind, I heard the familiar murmurs of my father, Marielle, and Tauriel, who decided to join me as I explored Amsellhein.
Earlier this morning, I had spent several hours with Egon as he showed me around the castle, each room more breathtaking than the last. His voice brimmed with pride as he pointed out the details, sharing stories of the castle's history and the significance of each room.
The ballroom, with its grand chandeliers and polished marble floors, left me mesmerized, while the immense library of the castle took my breath away. Sunlight had poured through a grand, dome-shaped glass ceiling, casting a golden glow over the countless bookcases painted in rich blue and adorned with gold ornaments. But the room that truly captured my heart was the one I had awoken in this morning.
Egon's bedroom was enormous, even larger than the entire house I used to live in back at Terrassen. His bed was positioned in front of towering windows that led to a balcony overlooking the valley below. The view was nothing short of magical.
We had watched the sunrise from his bed, its golden light gradually revealing the lake below and the majestic mountains in the distance. The sunrise had painted the sky in hues of gold and pink, and I felt an overwhelming sense of being right where I was meant to be as we admired the view.
It was hard to get out of bed, as I wanted to remain in Egon's arms forever. However, his obligations awaited him and he was eager to show me around his home before he had to attend to his duties. When he eventually had to leave for a training session with his pack, he promised to continue the tour later this evening.
With the rest of the day to myself, I decided to explore Amsellhein. My father eagerly offered to join me. Having spent a few months here, he was familiar with every corner of the city and was excited to show me around. Marielle and Tauriel decided to accompany us.
The reunion with Marielle and Tauriel had been just as emotional as when I first saw my father again. The wave of warmth and affection that had swept over me caught me off guard. I hadn't realised how much I'd missed them until that moment. Seeing them again felt like reclaiming a piece of my past and it brought back memories of a life that seemed so long ago.
"Let's go in here," my father suddenly spoke, cutting through the lively chatter around us as he gestured towards a small shop on our left. "There's someone there who is eager to meet you."
I followed his gaze and immediately recognised the shop from the day before. Needle & Thread Tailor.
The name of the store was written in an elegant script on the sign above the door. The shop was small, with large windows on either side of the door showcasing beautiful dresses and tailored tunics.
I followed my father inside, the bell above the door ringing softly as we entered.
The interior was an explosion of colours and textures. Everywhere I looked, there were rolls of fabric—stacked against the walls, draped over tables, and even hanging from the ceiling.
