A Love So True

Chapter 9

Ishan handed Shubman Ayurvedic tea . He saw Shubman was acting weird and massaging his own forehead frequently. Maybe he was having a severe hangover.
Shubman looked at the cup and asked,
" What is it ?"
He was avoiding eye contact with Ishan.
" Tea for your hangover."
Ishan put the cup on the dining table.
" But I don't have any hangover?"
Shubman said.
Ishan rolled his eyes .

What a stubborn man.

" Just drink it . Don't need to act strong. You are acting weird."

Shubman was embarrassed.

' If you know the reason why am I acting weird , you'll get scared Baby."

He didn't argue anymore and took a sip.

Mrs Gill who was already disappointed with his son's behaviour , came and saw that Shubman was drinking the hangover tea.

She was worried last night so she went to ask Ishan if his son returned or not . She heard Shubman was shouting at Ishan . She went back .

It was his kindness that Ishan accepted his son with a kid from another woman. He never asked about Ivan's mother. He never complained about his son's rude behaviour. From taking good care of Ivan to doing everything for Shubman and the Gill family , Ishan did everything perfectly and sincerely. She never saw a man , who is fulfilling every criteria of a Mother , a partner and a daughter in law. Still his dumb son was behaving bad with him .

Poor Ishan.

Mrs Gill sat infront of Shubman.
" Ishan Son , take Ivan with you in the kitchen , I have something to tell him."
Mrs Gill told Ishan.
Ishan noticed slight anger in her voice. He took Ivan with him in the kitchen.

Shubman was confused. Why his Mom was suddenly angry.

" Shub , What do you think you are doing ?"
She asked.

" What Mom ? I don't understand what you are talking about."
He replied.

" Don't you see Ishan is doing everything for us ? He never complained about anything. That poor boy embraced your family like his own . Ivan's own mother left him and Ishan here is giving him all the love he deserves. What you're doing for him ? Shouting on him , scolding and abusing him . I didn't raise you like this ."
She said . Her voice was showing the disappointment.
Shubman was surprised. He understood that Mom was talking about last night.

" Mom that's not like . We are arguing in another matter. I--"

His Mom intervened.
" Don't defend yourself. You both are working person. He did his office work , made breakfast for you because you always complained about Sanjib's cooking , arranged your files , clothes because you never found anything on time and many more. He always observes your mood and behaves according to it . You tell me have you ever asked him if he needs anything? "

Shubman was silent. He knew that he always takes Ishan for granted like it's his responsibility as his partner. Mom pointed out how Ishan was taking care of him silently.
His heart warm up . The feelings he was feeling , became more clear.

" Sorry Mom , I didn't notice."
He looked down.

Mrs Gill sighed.
" Son , I know you two didn't get married out of Love but responsibilities . But atleast try to love him , take care of him . Make a good environment for Ivan. "

Shubman nodded.

" I'll try . Actually Mom you know I am straight.
It's difficult for me to love a man. Everything happened so suddenly. "
He said .

Mrs Gill put her hand on Shubman's shoulder.
" Remember one thing , Love knows no gender, age or race. "

Shubman is proud of his mother. She is very kind , empathetic and understanding.
