ISHMAN

The administration building of Gill industries embuzzed with its usual weekday energy.

Employees walked briskly through the open glass lobby, files tucked under their arms, coffee cups in hand, as sunlight streamed in through the massive windows.

Ishan weaved through the bustle with familiar ease. He was dressed in a powder blue shirt with the sleeves rolled neatly to his elbows, his slim-fit washed jeans matching the cool, composed air he carried.

A few employees greeted him as he passed, a mix of polite smiles and subtle admiration in their eyes.

"Good afternoon, Sir!"

"Hello, Mr. Kishan!"

"Afternoon!" Ishan returned their greetings with warm, quick nods, flashing his usual bright smile, though today it didn't quite reach his eyes.

He stepped into the private lift at the end of the hall - the only one that went directly to the executive floor where Shubman's cabin was. The biometric panel lit up green the moment Ishan placed his thumb on it. Only a select few had access, but everyone in the company knew: Ishan was the owner of the owner. His presence needed no clearance.

The ride up was silent, save for the soft instrumental music playing overhead. Ishan stood quietly, arms crossed, eyes on the numbers climbing. He didn't know why he felt this way. On the way he was trying to contact Shubman but later wasn't picking up his call - clearly mad at him.

The lift opened with a soft ding, and he stepped out into the quiet corridor. As he walked past familiar doors, his steps slowed near the assistant cabin - his cabin once upon a time.

He stood there for a moment, his gaze softening as he looked through the frosted glass. That space still held echoes of another time.

A tender smile crept onto Ishan's face, unbidden. The kind of smile that only nostalgia could bring.

Just then, the door to the cabin flung open with a sharp click.

Ishan instinctively stepped back and so did the man on the other side.

" Yash "

The younger man froze mid-step. His eyes locked with Ishan's, caught off guard.

Ishan was momentarily startled too, but quickly recovered. He offered a polite smile, ever graceful even when surprised.

"Oh Yash! Are you going for a meeting? Actually, I just suddenly decided to visit. I should've asked Shubman if he has any meeting right now,"
Ishan said quickly, voice gentle, lips tugging into a small pout at the thought that his husband might be too busy to spend time with him and he would have to wait to coax his husband who was mad at him .

Ishan became a little impatient , he wanted to meet Shubman as soon as possible.

Yash didn't answer right away. In the brief moment Ishan's eyes flicked to Shubman's office door, Yash took the chance to tuck a yellow envelope behind his back - subtle, but hurried.
