As I follow the Hokage into the living room, I am enveloped by an aura of elegance and significance. The furnishings are refined, and every object seems to have its place and its story. "Of course, he is the Hokage after all," I think as I respectfully take in the surroundings. The rooms exude a calm dignity, and I feel small amidst this impressive atmosphere.
The Hokage interrupts my thoughts by pointing to a woman who is just as calm and elegant as the room itself. "Yukari, may I introduce you to my wife, Biwako Sarutobi," he says with a slight smile.
"It is an honor to meet you," I reply politely and bow slightly, but Biwako remains silent, studying me with an expression I can't quite interpret. Her eyes are calm, but they carry a depth that makes me feel as though she can see straight into my soul.
The Hokage then directs my attention to a small boy playing in the room. "And over there is Naruto Uzumaki. As I have already mentioned, this is a great secret that must absolutely be kept. Naruto is the child of your aunt Kushina and the Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze. The Nine-Tailed Fox is sealed within him. As you surely know, Minato sacrificed his life to seal the fox demon."
My eyes widen in shock and pity as I look at the small, unsuspecting Naruto. How could so much responsibility be placed on such young shoulders? A child, barely older than Sasuke, carries the burden of a demon within him. It almost feels unfair that he has to endure so much without even knowing it. "Naruto will have to live alone from the age of four," the Hokage continues, his voice heavy with sorrow. "Kakashi and Jiraiya, who were very close to Minato, will watch over him from afar, but they cannot directly care for him. Since the Fourth Hokage had many enemies, Naruto's identity is a great risk for the village. But you, Yukari, will play an important role. I want you to take care of Naruto, stay close to him, and support him as he finds his own path."
The Hokage's words echo within me, and I feel the weight of this responsibility bearing down on me. But at the same time, I feel a desire to help Naruto, just as Shisui and Itachi helped me when I was alone. "Of course, I will help take care of Naruto," I say determinedly. "Does Shisui know about this?"
"Yes, Shisui knows, but he hasn't had any direct contact with Naruto yet. You will also not see him for another year. How was your first day at the Academy?" the Hokage asks, seemingly eager to change the subject.
"It was interesting," I reply honestly, my thoughts still with Naruto. "But we haven't done much yet. I'm curious to see what the next few days will bring."
The Hokage smiles gently, and for a moment, his face looks less stern. "I have high expectations of you, Yukari. You will be a great student. Now you should go home; my wife needs some rest."
I politely say goodbye to him, his wife, and Naruto before leaving the house. The Hokage's words still echo in my mind as I walk through the streets of Konoha. "Will you two help me take care of Naruto?" I quietly ask Yako and Kitsune in my mind.
"Of course," they reply in unison. "We are always here for you."
A warm feeling washes over me. Despite the responsibility weighing on me, I know that I am not alone. Yako and Kitsune are always with me, even if they must remain hidden. Their constant presence gives me strength and security, and I look forward to training with them and spending time together.
I originally planned to go straight home, but my feet unconsciously carry me to Itachi's house. It's almost like an instinctive reflex, as if I need the comfort of familiar faces. When I arrive and Sasuke sees me, his face lights up like the sun after a storm. "Big sister Yukari!" he calls out excitedly as he runs towards me, his little feet pounding on the ground.
I kneel down and gently stroke his head, feeling his boundless energy. "Itachi is on a mission. Would you like to play with me?" I ask him, and I see a hint of sadness in his eyes because his big brother isn't there. But then he brightens up again.
