Chapter Eight:

•Adonis•

"Welcome back brother" Jaxon said to Levi tapping his shoulder as I typed away on my computer.

A week has passed since I had employed Sabrina and two weeks has passed since the conversation with Levi about My father's and brother's death. About finding information, I haven't found much. Only the company who consider themselves rivals with us in this line of work.

There are a lot of companies who find us Family Ties Fashion as a threat but my mind links back to just one person.

"Are you gonna pretend like you're working or you'd come here to welcome me" Levi deadpanned, grabbing my attention. I snapped my head to him, staring at him for a bit before taking my attention back to the laptop in front of me..

"Oh Levi, welcome back to London. I'm sure you're really happy to be there since you were persuaded with half a million euros" I said curtly, turning my head to look at him again. "I begged you with money, Levi. And you think you deserve a warm welcome?" I asked, quirking up a brow at him.

He rolled his eyes, leaning back in the chair he sat across of my desk next to Jaxon.

"That just shows how much you've missed me Adonis" He replied with a chuckle. I resisted an eye roll at him as I checked the perfect hall to book for the launch to take place in. I know this is meant to be either Sabrina or Tammy's job but I had decided to do it myself because I'd know the halo that suits me and not them.

"So how are you dealing with Sabrina back in your life" Hearing this, my head shot up sending glares Levi.

"She's my assistant Levi" I deadpanned scrolling through through the names of the recommended halls on the website.

"Hmm" He hummed in response. Of course, Levi is going to ask about that, he always finds a way to rile me up.

Silence fell upon us for a while before Levi decided to break it.

"Have you found any information about your father's and brother's death. I mean like you said, it's like someone is behind it and you've got to get to the root" He said. I shut my laptop firmly, my palm still lingering on it as I turned my head to face him.

"I have found someone I guess" I replied. Jaxon's brows shut up, hearing what I had said.

"What do you mean?" He asked sipping from the paper cup in his hand.

"I mean I have someone in mind. A competitor" I said looking between both of them.

"Suspecting someone? You know FTF have a lot of competitors better still known as haters in this line of business?" Levi asked and I nodded as a response.

"I know there are a lot of people but Father had feud with this person and his son also hated Alex for no actual reason"

"Well the reason was that you did better than them in this business" Jaxon said with a shrug.

Levi hummed hearing my theory, his fingers tapping the table as he was lost in thoughts.

"Who do you think it is?" Levi asked after a beat.

"Kox" I said with an assurance. I was really sure that it was the ceo of kox that was behind the death of my father and older brother.

I mean they've always hated us and we've always been rivals with them.

"What do you think we should call this new shoe design?" Alex asked me as my eyes scanned through the crowd.

I was forced to attend this party. Alex knew that I hated interacting with people apart from my friends and families and here I am staying at this party.

"I think the appropriate name for the new shoe design is 'I don't wanna be here Alex" I whined making Alex chuckle.

"But no one dragged you to be here" He joked eyeing me. I turned my head around to look at him, scoffing.

"You begged me to come"

"I used my charm" He shrugged taking a sip from the glass in his hand.

"Adonis and Alex" A voice said grabbing our attention. My eyes landed on the last person I wanted to see today.

Jacob Kox.

"Jacob" Alex and I said in unison. His lips tilted up into a smirk as he eyed us.

"I couldn't help but notice the heir of the Huang's Empire standing here with his sidekick" He taunted. "You two should know how much attention you draw to yourself right?" He added, now facing Alex.

"What do you want Jacob" Alex asked calmly.

Hearing this, Jacob moved closer to Alex but before he could get any closer, I got in between them, shoving him backwards.

"Adonis, relax. I just wanted to tell your brother to keep watching his back. I mean you wouldn't know who is chasing you right?" He said, adjusting his suit jacket.

"Are you threatening him?" I barked at him, feeling all the muscle in my body tense up. Jacob smirked, raising his hand up in surrender.

"Threaten? I'm at your party, why would I?" He said. "Bye friends" He smirked walking away from us. I moved from the front of Alex, going to stand beside him again with my eyes still fixated on Jacob.

"Adonis?" Alex tapped my shoulder, making me drift my eyes from Jacob to him.

"Who let him in? I thought I told the guards not to let any Kox's relative in here" I said through gritted teeth as I tried to calm myself down.

The call of my name brought my attention back to reality.

"Are you sure it's the Koxs?" Levi asked wanting to be sure. I tapped my fingers on the desk repeatedly as I nodded my head approvingly.

"I'm really sure it's linked to them" I replied, the memory of when Jacob came to our party uninvited to threaten my brother. I grabbed my phone to check the time, Just three pm.

"I've got to go assess the hall I have booked for the Launch." I stood up in my feet, tucking my phone in my pocket strolling towards the door.

"Leave now" I demanded before walking out of my office to go get Sabrina to follow me.

Atleast that's her job as an assistant....
