Chapter Four: Job
•Sabrina•
"What do you mean you confronted him?" I asked Rieke through the phone as I arranged my clothes inside of the closet. I had taken the day off yesterday because I was so tired and super full after dinner last night.
Whoever said food gives one energy is just one lying piece of shit because I was for sure weak than I had ever been in my whole entire life.
"I had to you know" She replied making me shake my head. I plopped down on the bed, sighing as I stared up at the ceiling.
"I'm just so heartbroken" I said, tears starting to pour out from my eyes rolling down my cheek. "I did nothing wrong? Did I?" I said more to myself.
"Of course you didn't. You did nothing wrong." She said. "Larson is just a dick. A very huge one at that" She said after a beat.
A knock landed on the door of my bedroom, making me prop on my elbow. The knock came again as I discarded my call with Rieke.
"Rieke, I'd call you back." I said looking at the door. "I've really got to do something."
"Uhmm.... Okay, chat with you later" I disconnected the call. I threw my phone on the bed, walking towards the door twisting the door knob as the door opened up.
"Hi" Jaxon said with a polite grin.
"Hey" I replied. "Have you considered me going to school now?" I asked making his grin drop.
"Let me in and I'd tell you everything" He said with his eyes scanning my room. I moved out of the way paving space for him to walk into the room.
He stopped in front of my bed with his hand in his pocket. I slammed the door shut softly, spinning around to face him.
"I've got something better than school* He said staring at me. "Better than studying" He added as if reading my mind.
"I pulled some strings and talked to a friend who had vacancy in their firm and you're going to be working as a personal assistant" He said.
I widened my eyes, technically choking on the news he has just released. "You've got me a job?" I asked as he nodded.
"As a personal assistant to some firm?" I asked again.
"Yes and not a law firm, Sabrina" He clarified. "A fashion firm. And you're going for the interview tomorrow" He added, turning around to leave the room but he came to a halt when I spoke.
"I could have worked at a law firm you know?" I folded my arms across my chest with a pouted lips.
His head snapped as he approached me. "Souris, you can't work at a law firm okay? I've got the best short for you here. You're working in a fashion firm okay?" He said, I nodded resisting an eye roll.
"Good girl" He patted my cheek softly before he started strolling towards the door again.
"Where are you going?" I asked making him halt one more time.
"Somewhere" He said checking the time on his watch. "By this of the day?" I said, checking my blank wrist trying to mimick him.
He let out a small chuckle, shaking his head. "Yes" He nodded.
