Chapter Thirteen: Bullshit

The words Mr Marley had read out from the will is still playing in my head, those words replayed in my head.
I down the what was remaining of my liquor down my throat as that caused my chest to burn.
Drinking early in the morning? I mean, it's five thirty pm somewhere. I dropped the glass on the counter before walking around, leaving the kitchen.
Still very much lost in thoughts, I felt a fury skin touch my bare leg as I bent my head to look down at snowball who was trying to climb up my leg. I bent slightly as I picked her up, scratching her stomach.
"Snowball, daddy is stressed" I said stroking her furs as she replied with a meow making me chuckle softly.
"Why would dad even do that? I mean he knows I'm not a relationship kinda person, he wouldn't have done that to me if he knew right?" I asked myself and she meowed again.
I smiled at her, before placing a kiss on her head. I placed her down, strolling to the kitchen as she followed me behind. I opened the cabinet and grabbed her food before pouring it inside of her bowel.
I left the kitchen to my bedroom. I came out after twenty minutes of freshening up and left for work. The ride to work from my house was exactly fifteen minutes.
I climbed out of the car, walking into the lobby. The receptionist greeted me but I ignored her greetings going straight into the elevator. I got to my floor, Sabrina and I floor since she has been working as my assistant.
"Good morning Mr Huang" She greeted.
Thought of the devil
I halted in my pace, turing to face her. "Good morning, lila" the words came out of my mouth without me even thinking or processing. I almost gagged at myself for calling her that.
Her face was filled with surprise but she shot it down immediately.
"Why're you here so early?" I asked, trying to ease up the awkward silence between us.
She swallowed hard, that seemed to have affected her throat from the way she had reacted. "I thought it was necessary to come early to work today since I didn't come back to office yesterday. It was a way of apology" She explained making me raise a brow at her.
"You didn't drop by work yesterday?" I asked, as if I didn't hear her the first time. What the hell gave her the nerve to disobey me?
"Yes" She replied timidly. "I was so tired after the tour at the hall yesterday". I held the bridge of my nose, trying to calm myself down.
I was really getting vexed this morning. First from the condition Kevin Huang had placed me on aka my father and now getting to know that Sabrina hadn't dropped by work yesterday.
"Call Jaxon and tell him to drop here" I demanded, trying to avert myself from the topic we were discussing right now.
She hesitated for a while before she grabbed her cellphone. "Is Tammy at work already?" I asked as she placed the call.
"I'm not really sure but I'd...."
I raised my hand, cutting her off. "Just call Jaxon okay? And after that, also put a call through my lawyer. If anyone of them asks why I called, just tell them I didn't disclose anything to you but it's really urgent" I said, leaving her office before she could respond.
