Chapter4:The warning

I couldn't shake off the feeling that Tyler was hiding something. The note, his behavior, everything seemed to point to a deeper secret. I decided to do some digging, starting with his friends. Maybe they knew something.

I approached Emily, one of Tyler's closest friends, during lunch. "Hey, Emily, can I talk to you for a minute?" I asked, trying to sound casual.

She looked up from her phone, a hint of wariness in her eyes. "What's up?"

"I was just wondering...do you know anything about Tyler's past?" I asked, trying to sound nonchalant.

Emily's expression changed, a flicker of fear crossing her face. "What do you mean?"

"I don't know...just rumors, I guess," I said, trying to downplay it.

Emily glanced around the cafeteria, making sure no one was listening. "Look, Sophia, I don't know what you're looking for, but be careful around Tyler. He's...complicated."

I leaned in, my heart racing. "What do you mean?"

Emily hesitated, then leaned in close. "Tyler's family...they're not what they seem. There's something dark going on, something he's desperate to keep hidden."

I felt a chill run down my spine. What was Tyler hiding?

Suddenly, Emily's eyes widened, and she glanced over my shoulder. "Oh no...he's coming."

I turned to see Tyler walking towards us, a charming smile on his face.

"Hey, girls! What's going on?" he asked, his eyes narrowing slightly as he took in our serious expressions.

Emily quickly covered. "Just discussing our math homework, Tyler."

Tyler's eyes lingered on me, a hint of suspicion in their depths. "Sophia, can I talk to you for a minute?"

I hesitated, feeling a sense of trepidation. But Emily's words echoed in my mind...be careful around Tyler.

"Sure," I said, getting up to follow him.

As we walked out of the cafeteria, I couldn't shake off the feeling that I was walking into danger.
