Chapter5:The Secret

Tyler led me to an empty classroom, his expression unreadable. "So, Sophia, what's going on?" he asked, his voice neutral.

I hesitated, unsure of how much to reveal. "I just...I don't know, Tyler. You seem really secretive, and I saw that note..."

Tyler's expression changed, a flicker of anger crossing his face. "What note?"

"The one on my locker," I said, my heart racing. "It said to be careful around you."

Tyler's eyes narrowed. "Who wrote that?"

"I don't know," I said, taking a step back. "But Emily seemed scared when I asked her about your past."

Tyler's face went white, and for a moment, I thought he might explode. But then, he seemed to regain control.

"Listen, Sophia," he said, his voice low and even. "I don't know what you're looking for, but you need to back off. My family...we have secrets, okay? But they're not your concern."

I felt a surge of fear, but I stood my ground. "I just want to know the truth, Tyler."

Tyler's eyes flashed with anger. "You want the truth? Fine. My family...we're not what we seem. We have power, Sophia. And with that power comes danger."

I swallowed hard, my mind racing. What kind of power? What kind of danger?

But before I could ask, Tyler's expression changed, and he seemed to shut down.

"Just forget it, Sophia. Forget you ever saw that note. Forget you ever asked me questions."

I nodded, feeling a sense of unease. I knew I had to be careful around Tyler, but I also knew I couldn't just drop it. I had to uncover the truth.

As I left the classroom, I felt a sense of determination. I would uncover Tyler's secrets, no matter what it took.
