chapter 11 - mixed emotions

Michael's pov
I arrived at the wedding reception,I really I didn't want to come at Mr Brooks wedding it will cause mixed emotions and I was right when I saw Lexi,her parents,her brother and Nina.
" Nina",I called her.what is she doing here.
" Michael ",both Lexi and Nina then looked at each other in confusion, I guess I wasn't the only one confused then I saw Nina holding Lexi's brother's hand Edward, I got angry and furious how called Nina do this to me she never told me who about him.
" Brother am".
" Save it Nina, congratulations Mr and Mrs Brooks sorry but I would love to talk to my sister ".
" Sure will be going else where".
" Thank you ".
" Darling,I will be by the food table if you need me", Edward said.
" Mr Edward Brooks you are coming to,same goes for you Lexi".
" This doesn't involve me,"she said.
" Fine suit yourself ".
" Fine then ".
Lexi took us somewhere quiet to talk away from the party.

Lexi's pov
It was so quiet and I knew Michael was angry,the way he squeezed his fit's scared me , even the atmosphere was dark,then he spoke.
" Why didn't you tell me Nina?".
" Am sorry big bro".
" I didn't ask for an apology but an explanation Nina!"Michael shouted.it scared Nina and me I have never seen Michael angry before and now it scares me.
" I should have told you,I should have come at that moment the time I fell for Edward ,the time he asked me to marry him am sorry",Nina said in tear's .
"For how long Nina?"
" It's been a month now".
" A month... Wait a month nina why would you do that to me, how many times have I told you to come to me immediately why Nina explain yourself ", Michael shouted even louder.i took a step back in fear and Nina fell to her knees hugged her brothers legs asking for forgiveness.
" Nina get up ,you shouldn't be doing this,you will get yourself dirty", Edward said.
" Am talking to my sister not you,I didn't ask you to interfere ", Michael said.
Edward stood there quite and nervous under Michael's gaze.
" By the way Edward did Nina tell you what happened before,when she did exactly what she did now and didn't tell me".
" What are you talking about?"
" Brother please,I will tell him please don't do this please ".
" What is he talking about Nina?"Edward asked.
"So you don't know?"
" Brother I know,i caused you alot of pain  because of what I did , because of losing Mitchell it was my fault too ,but they blamed you for everything I should have been or should be responsible too".
" Don't you mention her name ,not Infront of them it's the past that should be buried ".
" Michael ".
" Go home Nina ,and wait for me we have to talk ".
" So what are you going to beat your sister up?"Edward asked.
" Edward please ",Nina pleased .
" Nina go home".
And Nina left,then Michael took a step Infront of Edward, Michael was taller than Edward so he looked dominant which made Edward shake.
" Listen to me and listen good,am not like you who dislikes and hits his sister ".
" She's not my sister ".
" Hmm and you except me to let you go out with Nina with that attitude not a chance ".
"I will even if you won't let me , because I love Nina with my life I would do anything for her".
" You say , that when you can't love your sister ".
" Lexi isn't Nina ".
" Don't you even think of running away with Nina because I will go even to the deepest of pits to find Nina".
" How can you treat your sister like that?"
" You dare to question me,I did what I did because I love my sister,I had to take all the beatings for her sake,I don't know what my parents will do if the find out about this ".
" What are you saying?"
" Go our talk isn't done yet ".
" But ".
"I said leave,and don't you think you would win my parents hearts ,they want a rich guy for Nina".
" I will prove all of you wrong, because love is stronger , powerful than money ".
And just like that Edward left,it was just me and Michael.
He went towards the sea and through a stone in the sea in anger.
" Aren't you going to say anything?"he asked me.
" What can I say?"
" It's fine nevermind ".
He said and began to live .
" Wait,what was Nina talking about when she mentioned Mitchell and about what you said about her?"
" The juicy stories ha".
Michael faced the sea and took a deep breath,I stood next to him.
" I really have never told anyone about this except Allen..... It goes way back when we were still young,me ,Nina and Mitchell".
" You had a younger sister".
" Yes but she passed away and ....and it was because of me I killed her".
" What!!!".
" Well not like actually killed her but ..it was my fault she got killed, because of my careless ness and selfishness,and disobedience.
It was on my birthday,that my parents went out to bye me a cake and my parents told me to close the door with the key when they got out,but I didn't listen,I told Nina to do it ,yet she was so young and Mitchell was just two years at that time,so I left for my room to play games instead of being responsible and watch over them I left and went to my room.
And what happened next ,turn my world around.
