chapter 19 - God help me now

Lexi's pov
It's been months since Michael and I broke up and yes I was still helping him with his project,but we both knew the was a gap in between.and pictures of him and mia ,his mom and dad where everywhere,though him and mia aren't back together.
We had another meeting,at AM gaming company.
"Lily I just can't do it anymore".
" You have gone to the meeting before with her there".
" I know,but I can't".
" Come on let's give it a try , it's business after all".
" Okay let's give it another try but I can't promise,God am asking please you can help me".
" And he definitely will his always there".
We left for the company,and did the greetings and all .
And he let go off my hand first it felt cold afterwards.
The meeting began,and Allen spoke and spoke and it was my turn and before I could say anything mia entered in and now the meeting became about her as always.i began to shake and my breathing reduced.
" Mia this is a business meeting, don't come and show case yourself".
" Fine, fine let my dear big sister continue...Lexi".
I showed everyone the outfits for the game characters ,but before I continued again mia asked an in appointment question,it made me unsteady and other business men were interested to know more.
I wanted to go out ,I wanted to breath ,I was scared she kept on speaking and speaking her voice never left my mind .
God help me please.
" Ms brooks are you feeling okay?"a business man asked.
I wasn't thinking really,I wanted to be out of here.
" Okay this meeting is over", Michael side in an angry voice.
Mia giggled and tired to kiss Michael cheek and he moved.
" Excuse I have to go, Lily let's go".
" Okay ".
Then mia giggled and was on her way.
When I got out,I almost stabbed, because of the heals I was putting on .
Tear's began to full .
" Hey,hey am sorry,we shouldn't have come ,I was thinking of my self".
" Lily my inhaler,I can't breathe".
" Here,here take it easy".
After I breathed in,more tear's fell.
" I can't take it anymore".I said and hugged her and she hugged me back.

Michael pov
I saw her go outside and I saw her cry and hug lily and I was here in my office and I couldn't do anything.
When I went home ,I kept on thinking about how to make her life easy.
I went for a jog ,I felt it in my heart that I would find her somewhere and I did,the bench where I confronted her about the truth and I could see she was crying.
" Hey may I".
And she looked up and wiped her tear's and moved away.
" You okay".
" What do you think?"
" Am sorry".
" For what?"
" For everything,you can step down in the contract,I will find someone else".
" Am fine,am not that vulnerable".
" Lexi".
" Am fine okay!"she shouted and stood up .
" I know maybe only me , Allen, lily and mia saw how unstable you were".
Lexi couldn't say anything,but stood there and tear's just flowed,I was hesitating to make a step towards her and I did and she stepped back.
" I don't know what to do anymore".
God please help me know am lost and I don't know what to do anymore.
"Lexi am sorry you have to go through this ,I want to help you so much because you mean so much to me,but I can't am sorry".
" It's okay,has I said am not that vulnerable,am fine ".
I knew she wasn't fine,I could tell,so I hugged her ,so she wouldn't feel alone, though I told myself no to get close to her ,I just couldn't she needs someone,I knew my mom put people and mia to be watching my every move,but right now I wanted to be selfish,I didn't have a care in the world when I was with her,I wanted to ask her to marry me but right now wasn't the right time.
" Michael what are you doing?"
" I just couldn't am sorry".
She shook her head and then hugged me back.
" I missed this ".
" I missed it too, listen Lexi I should have told you a long time about this ,I just didn't want you to worry ".
" What is it?".
" Three months ago my mom came to me and theatrded ,I thought she became I real mother to me but no,I guess I was wrong,she wanted me to get back together with mia but i refused,but agreed to break up with you in order for her to live you alone ".
" Why didn't you just tell me?"
" Am sorry "..
" Look I understand,if you what us to keep on pretending it's okay,and the project I will continue helping you".
" But.."
" Listen I will help you from a distance,I don't want to be near mia".
" You are so thoughtful, that's what I love about you".
"Awwww I love you too".
" Hey but be careful okay,let everyone know,it still over between you and me well except Lily and Allen ".

And I kissed her forehead.

And Lexi left ,so did I .
I just wonder how long this is going to last.
