chapter 12 - Bitter truth

Michael's pov
I was so inside my video games, until I heard a gun shot,I thought it was my imagination,so I ignored it ,then I heard it a second time.i went downstairs and what I saw changed my life .
The living room was scattered,and Mitchell.... Mitchell was laying on her own blood.
I couldn't continue,I knelt down and cried it was all my fault and that's the truth.
" Am sorry", Lexi said and hugged me it was a sweet Peaceful comfort,I hugged her back too ,I wanted to cry my pain out ,ever since then that day tormented me.
" What happened to Nina".
" She got the second shot on her shoulder, the police arrived on time because Nina called them while she got the chance to hide after she was shot ,the robbers heard the police and began to ran away,my parents arrived and we're angry,in pain ,sad ,in sorrow that they lost there child just there and  then I was bitten until I couldn't see,I was left there to cry while they look Nina and Mitchell.
And Mitchell never came back,my parents never forgave me until this day.
" I didn't know Michael am so sorry you had to go through that".
" It's okay,and then after some years past Nina became a spoiled rich kid she made herself the last born ,and on top of that my parents spoiled her ,she got more than she wanted,I swore upon my life to protect  her from everyone and everything my dad even hired body guards for her ,but I don't know how,she fell for  this certain guy and he tricked her and got her pregnant and when my parents found out they beat me up and I just couldn't defend myself because i was responsible for her".
" What happened to her child?"
" My parents told her to kill her child,she just couldn't take care of a child at her young age and my parents didn't want to ruin her and there reputation ".
" Oh my God , how could they poor Nina".
" I told Nina everyday come and tell me if the is something going on ,but no she doesn't listen am her big brother, am responsible ".
" But that isn't fair,you did your best and you still are, your parents should be responsible too",I said angryly.
" She fell for Edward and is engaged with out telling me ,what if my parents find out ?"
" You will find a way,I know it".
" It's seems you have so much confidence in me",I said with a smirk on my face.
" You are Michael white,of course you will find a way ".
Out of nowhere I burst out laughing,I couldn't control myself.

Lexi's pov
When Michael Burst  out laughing ,i couldn't stop but look at him,he has a nice smile and he looks like his laughing without a care in the world he seemed free,I like it I thought and smiled to myself.
And I found my self laughing too, after the laughter died down we just stared at each other.
" Thank you Lexi for listening".
" Sure ".
" It seems we all need therapy sometimes ".
" True".
Then Michael stood up and began to go and for some reason I stopped him by the hand and intertwined my fingers with his ,what was I doing,get it together Lexi his the enemies ex but no I didn't listen to that voice.he then turned and looked at me and took a step towards me and stood. again we just stared at each other,then he smiled.today is full of surprises ,I got to see the all strong and mighty Mr White breakdown and smile and laugh well he made me smile and laugh too.
And then he pushed back some threads of my hair behind my ear.
" I will see you soon Ms brooks,if that's okay with you".
And I just shook my head in acceptance and smiled.
" Good, alright I will be leaving good night".
" Good night".
" Oh and one more thing,Ms brooks", Michael said had he stop in his track's.
" Yes , what's that Mr White".
" Please unblock me ".
And I giggled.
" What's funny Ms brooks?"
" It's nothing,sure I will".
" Listen, please don't hesitate, it's between you and me , And not mia okay I will do my best to protect you too I promise".he said has he turned to face me.
" Don't promise me anything okay,you already have enough to protect am not part of your life".
" You are wrong you are already a part of my life Lexi, before you knew it , please atleast give me a chance ".
" Fine , fine I will text you happy now".
" Yes thank you ".
And just like that he left ,he had alot on his plate I could see a certain scar on his hand must have been part of the beating.thats just so cruel,and now I see we are kind of similar.i went back to the party which was even almost done I missed everything.
" Lexi where have you been ".
" We had some issues to deal with, wait what's Mr Allen still doing here".
" Ah well ".
" Ahhh I see ".
" Ooh come on the is nothing to see here Lexi we are just friends ".
" Okay if you say so , just friends".
" So what really happened,dad told me you , Edward, Nina and Michael had to talk".
" Yes and you wouldn't believe what I heard ".
" Tell me".
" It's something, that has ,or will change my life completely ".
It's going to be a rollercoaster.
