CHAPTER 6

Ordered my foot, thought Lila.

He didn't even come to show her around his humble abode.
Then he fucking orders her around.
Son of a....nvms-

She's a big girl, she doesn't curse like a brat.
If he wants to avoid her then sure he can, she's more then happy to see him less then necessary.

Lila stepped into the guest room, her eyes scanning the unfamiliar space. The soft, cream-colored walls and plush carpet seemed welcoming, but she couldn't shake off the feeling of unease. She was going to live here for two weeks.

At least I will have privacy for two weeks...she thought.

Her gaze landed on the queen-sized bed, adorned with a simple yet elegant duvet. She approached it, running her fingers over the soft fabric. The bed looked inviting, but she wondered if she'd be able to sleep soundly in this new environment.

Lila's eyes wandered to the dresser and nightstand, both made of dark wood and adorned with minimal decor. She imagined placing her own belongings on those surfaces, trying to make this space feel like her own.

As she turned around, her gaze fell upon the window, which offered a view of the surrounding landscape. She walked over to it, pulling back the curtain to reveal a beautifully manicured garden. The sight brought a hint of calmness to her, and she felt a sense of possibility.

"This is it," she thought to herself. "This is where I'll be living for the next two weeks. I can make this work." With a determined sigh, Lila began to unpack her bags, slowly turning this guest room into her temporary home.

On the other hand Ryker was having a drink with his friends, asher and Kieran.

The dimly lit bar was bustling with activity, but Ryker, Asher, and Kieran sat in a quiet corner, sipping their drinks. The conversation started with business, discussing their latest ventures and strategies. As the night wore on, the topic shifted to Lila.

Ryker couldn't help but mention how stunning she was, and Asher chuckled. "Dude, she's way too hot for you. But hey, it'll be easy to make a baby then!" Asher joked, grinning mischievously.

Kieran, the silent one, snorted, his eyes sparkling with amusement. He rarely spoke, haunted by his past, but when he did, his words carried weight. Tonight was no exception.

Ryker rolled his eyes, and grunted. "Shut up, Asher. I can handle myself."

Another low chuckle rises from Kieran and a high pitched laugh from Asher.

As the jokes continued, Ryker glanced at his watch, only to see it was already 10:30 PM, he had missed dinner.
"Oky guys I'm off" he said.

Asher nodded, finishing his drink. "Yeah, we should call it a night. But seriously, Ryker, be careful around Lila."

Kieran stood up, his movements fluid and quiet. "Later, guys."

As they parted ways, Ryker couldn't shake off the feeling that his friends were right – Lila was a force to be reckoned with, and he was already in too deep.

As he reached home, he went straight to the kitchen. He hasn't eaten anything in hours.
As he took off his jacket, he heard a sound.... something like a thump from upstairs.

He took his gun and slowly walked up  stairs and stood outside the guest room for a few seconds before barging inside.

On the bed was sitting a frozen Lila, looking at him with wide eyes.

"What happened just now?" He asked

She gulped down the saliva that has formed in her mouth.

"T-thought I saw a m-mouse" she stuttered.

He narrowed his eyes at her and asked "are you sure?"
She nodded "y-yeah yeah I'm fine"

He looked at her again before saying "oky then sleep, we will talk tomorrow" and leaving for downstairs.
As he left Lila took a breath of relief.

No one  is supposed to know about her secret.

She got up and went to the bathroom to wash her face and looking at herself in the mirror. Pale face and frantic eyes. He must have seen past the lie she has told him, she thought.

She got back to the bed trying to calm herself knowing very well that it's going to be a long night...

The next day, she woke up groggy.
Temple pounding with a headache.
She looked around the unfamiliar walls and curtains, then it all came down. The deal she made with Ryker
She groaned and got up.

She took a bath and went downstairs.
