I woke up the next morning, and immediately felt like klunk.

Luke's gone. Newt's mad at me. Gally's the leader. We're all shucked.

I got up and went to breakfast, and sat by myself, but Ashton and Michael joined me. Shuck. They're going to get me in trouble. "Jen, have you seen Luke this morning? We haven't found him anywhere," Ashton said.

"Have you checked the Slammer?" I asked. "I mean, it's Gally who's in charge these days."

"Yeah, Calum's the only one in there," Ashton replied. He didn't seem like himself, like I hurt him a couple of days ago telling him that he wasn't my brother.

"I know I've only been here a couple of days," Michael said, "but I think Newt would make a better leader."

I felt uncomfortable at the mention of Newt. I glanced over at him, who was looking back at me, but when our eyes met, he looked away. I felt awful. I regretted kissing Luke, yet...I didn't. Why didn't I regret kissing Luke? It felt right..

But being with Newt felt right too.

"Jenessa."

Shuck.

That was Gally standing behind me.

I turned around, facing him. "A word, please," he said. I got up and followed him out of the courtyard. "I told you to stay away from them."

"I was staying away from them," I said. "But they sat by me."

"Okay, shank," Gally said. "I'm going to ask you a question, and I want you to be honest with me."

Oh shuck. Not again.

"Where is Luke today?"

"I don't know."

"He's in the Maze, isn't he?"

"What? Luke's in the shucking Maze? Why?"

"I should be asking you."

"I don't know what you're talking about."

"Okay," Gally motioned behind me. Two Baggers came up beside me and grabbed my arms and dragged me off to the Slammer. Gally was the one who locked me up. "Why don't you spend some time in here and try to remember why Luke is in the Maze, okay?" He left.

Shucking klunk.

"Luke's in the Maze?"

I jumped when  I realized Calum was in the room next to me. "You're not going anywhere, are you?" I asked.

"Nah. Looks like you aren't either."

"Luke's in the Maze, yeah," I answered.

Calum leaned his head back as he sat against the ground wall. "Shucking Luke. Why'd he do that?"

"He didn't tell me much. Thomas wanted to show him something and Minho was scared."

Calum chuckled. "When did he tell you this?"

"Uh..last night."

"Oh yeah?" Calum was smiling. "What else happened last night?"

"I slept..?"

"No, I meant with Luke."

"I didn't sleep with Luke, Calum. What the shuck-"

"No, what else happened with Luke?" Calum asked. "Seriously, you can tell me. I'm not going anywhere."

"Well...we kissed.."

"Really??" Calum asked. "Aww."

"Yeah, and Newt shucking heard us or saw or something. He knew that we kissed, so now everything's screwed up."

"Did you ever think that you're not supposed to be with Newt?" Calum asked. "Maybe you're supposed to be with Luke."

I exhaled, thinking about the kiss.

"What are you thinking about?"

"I was just thinking that it's weird how kissing Luke felt so familiar, but I hate him. Kind of like you hate them."

"I can't figure it out," Calum said.

"Maybe Luke and I broke up," I said. "That's why I hate him, yet kissing him feels familiar. I really do like Newt, and Luke screwed that up for me."

"You think they'll send up any more girls?" Calum asked. "I kind of feel forever alone over here. Plus I'm in the Slammer. So I feel like a piece of klunk."

"I don't know," I said. "I don't know anything."

I laid down and drifted off to sleep. It didn't seem long before I heard Calum calling my name. "Jen. Wake up. Something's going on out there."

"What?" I asked, groaning. I was sleeping on the ground. This wasn't comfortable.

"Jen, something is wrong." Calum's voice was shaky. "Are you sure Luke's in the shucking Maze?"

I quickly got up, realizing how dark it was getting. The Doors would be closing any minute. I looked out with Calum, seeing everyone gathered around the Doors. "Calum!" I shouted. "Is Luke still in there?!"

"Yeah, with Thomas!"

"No," I said. "No, this can't be happening. He promised!" I gripped the Slammer's door, shaking it. It didn't look sturdy, but it was stronger than I thought. There would be no breaking out of the Slammer. "He shucking promised!" I kept shaking it, trying to break out of it. I had to get out of here.

"Jen, what did he promsie?" Calum asked.

The Doors began closing. My heart was racing, and I kept shaking the doors of the Slammer to get out. I didn't realize I was crying, tears streaming down my cheeks. And then, the Doors closed. They shucking closed. I dropped to the floor, and hugged my knees, burying my face. "He promised that he would come back."
