Chapter Fifty-Two
Brayden's POV
All I Want
I can't find her. I can't find her at all.
I parked the car on the side of the road and fought back tears. Don't give up hope just yet, Brayden. Be optimistic.
Rain started falling from the sky, as if it were crying.
Unwilling to waste anymore time doing nothing, I turned on the engine and started searching for her again.
I don't feel alive anymore.
My body is numb with worry.

"Brayden, it's no use. She's nowhere here, and Washington is huge; it's not possible we can find her unless we start a search team," Isabelle said. Her voice sounded distant to my ears. Everything seemed to be moving in slow motion.
It's still raining. I've lost track of time.
Isabelle found me sitting on the curb outside of Dick's, a drive-in fast food restaurant exclusive only to Washington. I haven't been here since August—and that was when my brother had taken me.
I was soaked to the bone. Rain droplets were dripping from my hair, and my shoes rested in a puddle. Never have I hated the rain so much before.
I sniffled, and wiped my nose with the back of my hand.
"Brayden?" Isabelle whispered, quietly, wrapping an arm around me.
Her touch was what finally broke me. I started to sob. Heather used to do that to me. She used to wrap her arms around me whenever I was upset. It doesn't feel right to have another girl wrap her arms around me and comfort me. It only feels right when Heather does it.
I want my Heather back.
That's all I want.
