"What's next?" Faye asked immediately, as everyone had heard what had happened. Suddan turned to Ron.
"Which route do you think they will take?" Suddan asked seriously.
"I think they'll probably come the usual way. They don't seem very familiar with the area, but I'm not sure if anyone is guiding them. Let's take a different route instead," Ron replied. Meanwhile, Tharn sat listening to everyone in confusion, partly because he didn't know that the incident was directly related to him.
"What happened?" Tharn asked.
"The group we were suspicious of yesterday has entered the forest. It seems like they're following us," Faye said, causing Tharn to furrow his brow slightly.
"Why would they follow us? If they are poachers or loggers, they would have to sneak into the forest without being seen, right?" Tharn said, prompting everyone to fall silent for a moment.
"Or maybe those people's target is us. But who exactly is their target?" Suddan asked as the thought occurred to him.
"Honestly, both I, Dan, and Faye have had problems with certain influential groups as well," Ron spoke up, but he didn't even think about Tharn at all, since Faye, Suddan, and Ron had been working together to crack down on the wrongdoers in the park. There might have been instances where they clashed with certain influential groups.
"Then let's go ahead," Faye said before they packed their things and followed Ron, as he knew the area well.
"Tharn, if you can't keep up, just let us know," Faye said after they had been walking for a while. Tharn nodded in acknowledgment because, although he was strong, he had never travelled this far before and might tire more easily than the others.
"Let's take a break," Suddan suggested when he noticed Tharn's expression, which seemed to indicate he was struggling. They stopped to rest and drink water, while Ron walked around to observe for any irregularities.
"Are we far from the destination?" Tharn asked.
"Not too far," Suddan replied. Tharn nodded in agreement. He was trying very hard not to be a burden on anyone. As he thought about this, he couldn't help but think of Ares. Just as they were about to sit down to rest, Ron ran over to them.
"I heard a group of people coming this way," Ron said, and everyone immediately became alert.
"Why did they catch up so quickly?" Suddan asked, helping his lover to stand up.
"They might have someone guiding them," Ron replied.
"Or maybe they just want to hike like us," Aon suggested. Everyone looked at each other, as it was difficult to predict anything. However, since the group seemed suspicious, they wanted to avoid encountering them if possible.
"Should we wait to see them and gauge their intentions first?" Ron asked.
"Let's do what Ron suggested, just in case we're overthinking this," Faye added.
"Did you two bring your guns?" Suddan turned to ask Ron and Aon.
"Yes, we did," both of them replied simultaneously, and Suddan nodded in acknowledgment.
"Alright, here's the plan: we'll proceed with our journey. If we encounter them, we'll observe their attitude; but if we don't, that's great," Suddan summarized. Everyone agreed and began to move on. However, it wasn't long before they had to stop when they came across the group of people in question, who were being led by a local hunter.
"Uncle Boon," Ron called out, greeting the local hunter he recognized, who was with the opposing group. Uncle Boon looked at Tharn's group with a tense expression and silently mouthed for Tharn's group to flee. But before Tharn's group could escape, the opposing side pointed a gun at Uncle Boon's head.
