Lisa’s POV
At Presscon….
“Good morning everyone! We are on live today and we are here to announce the partnership between LM Constructions of LM Corp. and Kim Constructions of Kim Industries. We have here the chairmans of both companies to answer everyone's questions. Let’s welcome Chairman Kim Min Jae and Lisa Manoban.” The host said.
Murmurs filled the room, everyone thought that this would be an advertisement announcement but all of them were surprised to know that this is a business partnership agreement. And most of the people here were shocked to know a new side of me, being the chairman of one of the biggest corporations.
Me and grandpops went up to sit on our designated chair. We bowed first as a way of respect to everyone.
“We will now start the Q and A. Raise your hands if you have a question and we will choose who to answer.” The host said. Many reporters have raised their hands.
“Well, wow! We are really surprised! We're kind of expecting something else, like advertising and such. But let's get to the point, What is this partnership about?” Reporter.
Grandpops and I just looked at each other and chuckled but he answered eventually, “Well from the mention of two construction companies, from the word itself it’s all about construction, both companies will join forces to create our future Malls, Hotel, Residences, Parks and Museums.”
“To Ms. Manoban, does this mean that you’re leaving the limelight?” Reporter.
“First of all, Since I am in Korea and most of the people here and watching this are Koreans, I might as well speak Korean.” I smiled. and started answering them in Korean. “So, to answer your question, not anytime soon. Fans don’t have to worry because I am a businessman first before I joined the band, we all are actually. But we all try our best to manage our time with the business, music and personal lives.” I said.
“You are very fluent in Korean. Is there a reason for that?” Reporter.
“Hmm. Actually, no. But I learned the basics from Jennie and I am eager to learn more so I would know if she’s cursing me already.” Everyone laughed. “Kidding aside, I just love learning so I pursued it. It pays off right now, isn’t it?” Everyone agreed.
A lot more questions about the upcoming projects that we answered.
“LMC sounds familiar, isn’t that the developer of Nirvana Estate? The most exclusive Subdivision right now in Korea. I heard the current president bought a house there and not everyone can avail a house there even if you can afford it. The security also is as tight as the Blue House (President Residence).” Reporter.
I smiled. “Ah. Never expected that to escalate. You’re good at research. Only a few have known who reside there, I cannot avoid people telling others where they reside but we minimize it as much as possible for their safety. The residence knows it too and we at LM Securities are making sure of that. We conduct background checks for those who want to avail, if you pass then you’re good if not then sorry. It’s not really about the money, It’s all about the security and safety for me.”
“But why in Korea?” Reporter
“Good question. It’s actually a request to be given land here. But I actually never thought that it would be this big, I just wanted a small one that I could actually build a private and peaceful house. But yeah, I asked for this because, first of all, not all of you may know this but Korea holds a very special place in my heart. I’ve constantly visited this place with my mom when I was still young. The second reason is Jennie, everyone here knows our connection right? Jennie is like a sister to me, she is my best friend and when I knew that she was going to train in Korea I searched all about it. So I made Nirvana Estate to give her a secure, safe and peaceful place that she can go to whenever she feels tired. And lastly, this is also for my mom and mine to have a place where we can stay here.” I explained.
“Blackpink just recently finished their world tour and they are all here in Korea for their break. Is there a chance that you will meet Jennie?” Reporter
“I really do like to roam around Korea. So if Jennie isn’t tired and has time for me. Please tour me around Jenniyah. If you're watching this, just ping me if it’s a go?” I winked and smiled.
“Is there any particular place you wanted to go? Reporter
“I wanted to try night markets but usually can’t go to crowded places. You know what I mean. But I wish I could even just for once.” I put my hands together making it a pleading sign “Since this is live can I actually ask for a favor? If I ever go to the night market can you let me roam around freely? You can take pictures and videos as much as you want but just let me eat peacefully.” I pleaded again now with a pout. Hoping to charm them. And everyone nodding and laughed again.
“Last question.” the host said.
“Do you have a special relationship with Jennie?” Reporter
“Yes we have, we are like family.” I answered and smiled. (Yeah. My future family.) I said to myself.
“Bye everyone and thank you.” We already stood up and bowed to everyone and the security escorted us.
