My grandmother sat me down in a chair before she started to make some tea for both of my "mate" and me. She didn't say a word while she did so, and I watched her and noticed that her hands were shaking while she started making the tea.

"Grams?" I asked and raised an eyebrow in question while I studied her, pressing my lips into a thin line. Worry for my grandmother blossomed in my chest, and I studied her, leaning forward in my chair. "Why are your hands shaking? What happened? What is going through your mind?"

My grandmother chuckled and shook her head. "Don't worry about it, Dear," she said before she cleared her throat and licked her lips. "I am ok." She finished setting the tea so that it could simmer before she went to the door as if she knew that someone was going to be there.

And sure enough, my mate started to bang on the door with loud thuds against the door, and my grandmother tsked and shook her head.

She opened the door midknock and scowled at the Alpha, who had his fist raised to bang against the door, and she narrowed her eyes while she stared at him. "Do you have to break down my fucking door?" she asked with a small snap in her voice.

"Where is she?" Levi asked and narrowed his eyes while he scowled, not even afraid of her at that moment. He lowered his hand to his side, not knocking on the door again. "Where is Alexandra?"

"I am at the fucking table, Alpha," I said and laid my head on the table when a headache appeared out of nowhere. I bit back a small growl and gritted my teeth in annoyance before I looked at him, ignoring the headache. "There is no fucking need to bang against the fucking door when all you need to do is knock once and then wait for someone to answer the door."

Levi turned to look at me with wide eyes filled with fear, worry, and then something else that I didn't know how to describe. He gently pushed my grandmother out of his way before he started to make his way into the house without her inviting him in, and he started to walk over to me.

I didn't move from my spot and watched him with eyes half closed, pressing my lips into a thin line without saying a word to him about him being rude to my grandmother when he pushed her out of the way to enter her house.

My grandmother tsked and shook her head while she closed the door and locked it. She started to walk over to the stove to finish the tea. Her whole body was relaxed, and I could tell that she wasn't that mad about being pushed out of the way when she knew how he was feeling and how worried he was of me.

The Alpha stopped right in front of me and started to push my chair away from the table so that he could look at me and make sure that I was safe, and I let him without saying a snide remark about being treated like a rag doll.

Hesitantly, he knelt down right in front of me and narrowed his eyes while he searched my face for answers he didn't know if I could answer or not. "Are you ok?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

I furrowed my brows and cocked my head to the side while I studied him, confused. "What do you mean?" I asked and raised an eyebrow in question. "I feel fine. Why are you asking me if I am ok, Alpha?"

Levi scowled and narrowed his eyes while he slowly blinked. His whole body was tense, and he looked annoyed that I didn't answer his question the way he wanted me to. "Because I want to know if you are ok or not, so are you ok?"

I bit back a tired sigh and shook my head, moving a hand through my hair and across my face, pursing my lips in annoyance. "What are you talking about, Alpha?" I asked and raised the eyebrow higher in question. "I already told you that I was fine."

He scoffed a laugh and rolled his eyes, pursing his lips in annoyance. "Do you feel any different?" he asked and cocked his head to the side while he studied me.
