As the sun rises over the institution, the light reflects off the glass of the botanical gardens lighting the place into a beautiful hue of orange and purple. A new day has started. For some.
The once fated pair remain lying together under the sun rise as they did under the sunset when their friends finally left them. The air is still, no one quite knowing what transpired yesterday. Everything is silent allowing even the smallest of creatures flying around the gardens to be heard.
It's like that sound alone has the plants waking up with flowers blooming almost instantly and stems shooting up towards the sun trying their best to get the nutrients they all need.
A certain energy fills the space. It's powerful and imbued with love.
One species of flower in particular has spread like wildfire across the gardens with one amongst every other plant living there. They stand tall and abnormally large for their species practically taking the attention of all the other plants in the gardens.
The grey roses not only surround the gardens but also sit prettily around the small bed where Jungkook and Grey lie. As if by magic, they've grown overnight intertwining with each other to create what can only be described as a blanket over the pair.
The image is almost too good to be true.
A warmth moves in to the gardens from the suns rays beating down on the couple and brings a pleasant glow to their faces. The faint sound of birds chirping muffles the new sounds that have filled the gardens. The sounds of confusion.
The pair that were once lying still in each other's arms are now slowly waking up. Grey is the first to open her eyes, blinking them so slowly from the exhaustion lying behind them. She squints when the light shines down on her making her vision hazy.
Her body feels heavy, like she's not really inside it, but her mind is running a hundred miles a minute. It's trying to piece together where she is and what's happening to her. She doesn't feel like herself. Nowhere close.
When her eyes finally adjust to the light, she stares straight ahead and lands on the boy in front of her who remains still. That's when she suddenly realises the coolness on her cheek is from his hand. Moving her tense muscles, she grabs onto his hand and sucks in a breath at just how cold he is.
That's when she finally notices the blood staining his clothes. Tears are already streaming down her cheeks before she has a second to try to understand what happened. She tries to speak his name, but her voice feels non existent, like it's shrivelled up inside her and hidden away.
Soon her eyes are scanning their surroundings, her mind on overdrive as it tries to make sense of everything. She quickly notices the blood covering her clothes in such a similar pattern to the way it covers Jungkook's.
