The day had been going smoothly, or so you thought. You were at home, scrolling through your phone, when your phone rang. It was Sabrina’s manager, and you felt a twinge of worry as you answered.

“Hey, is everything okay?” you asked, your voice laced with concern.

Hi, sorry to bother you,” her manager replied, sounding a bit rushed. “Sabrina isn’t feeling well. She’s been pushing through the shoot, but her fever spiked, and she’s really not doing well. We think it’s best if she goes home.”

Your heart dropped. Sabrina always tried to power through everything, even when she shouldn’t. “I’ll be there right away.”

You grabbed your keys and hurried out the door, driving quickly to the location where Sabrina was filming her latest music video. Your mind raced with thoughts about how bad she must be feeling to have someone call you.

When you arrived, you spotted Sabrina sitting on a chair off to the side of the set, her eyes half-closed, her skin pale and flushed at the same time. Her hair was slightly damp from sweat, and she looked exhausted, like she could barely keep herself upright.

“Hey baby...” you called gently as you walked over to her, your heart aching at the sight of her like this.

She opened her eyes and gave you a weak smile. “Hey, babe. I didn’t want to worry you.”

You knelt down in front of her, brushing a few strands of hair away from her face. Her skin was burning up, just as they’d said. “You don’t have to worry about that. Let’s get you home, okay?”

Sabrina nodded, too tired to protest. With the help of her manager, you got her to her feet and wrapped your arm around her waist, guiding her to your car. She leaned heavily on you, clearly drained, but trying to keep it together.

Once she was settled in the passenger seat, you took a moment to look at her. She was shivering slightly, even though the car was warm. “We’re going straight home,” you told her softly. “I’ll take care of everything.”

Sorry for the trouble,” she mumbled, her voice hoarse.

“Stop that,” you replied gently, taking her hand in yours. “You could never be trouble. Just rest, okay? We’ll be home soon.”

The drive back was quiet, Sabrina’s breathing slow and steady as she rested her head against the window. When you arrived at your apartment, you helped her inside and guided her to the bedroom, laying her down gently on the bed.

“Let me grab some medicine and get you some water,” you said, brushing a kiss against her forehead.

She nodded, her eyes fluttering shut as she curled up beneath the blankets. You quickly fetched everything you needed, bringing back a glass of water, some medicine, and a cool cloth to place on her forehead.

Sabrina took the medicine with your help, and you could see her relaxing a bit as the cool cloth soothed her fever. You sat beside her, gently running your fingers through her hair, watching as she slowly drifted off to sleep.

thank you for taking good care of me, babe. she whispered, her voice barely audible.

“You don’t have to thank me,” you replied softly, leaning down to press a kiss to her temple. “I’m always here when you need me, brina.”

She smiled faintly before her eyes closed completely, finally giving in to the rest she desperately needed. You stayed by her side, watching over her, knowing that nothing else mattered as long as you were there for her, and she was going to be okay.
