It was one of those rare mornings where neither of you had to rush anywhere—no meetings, no rehearsals, no deadlines. The sunlight streamed through the curtains, gently warming the room, and you could feel Sabrina shifting beside you in bed. She stretched her arms over her head and rolled over, blinking her eyes open and giving you a sleepy smile.
“Mmm... morning,” she murmured, her voice still raspy from sleep. “What time is it?”
You glanced at your phone on the nightstand. “Almost 10. We actually slept in.”
Sabrina laughed softly, running a hand through her messy hair. “Wow, a miracle.” She propped herself up on her elbow, looking down at you. “So... what’s the plan today? Or are we just being lazy and staying in bed all day? ‘Cause, honestly, I’m cool with that.”
You smiled, feeling the warmth of her body close to yours. “I’m down for a lazy day. It’s been a while since we did nothing together.”
Sabrina grinned, her eyes lighting up. “Right? We’re always, like, on the go. I kinda like this—just you and me, no distractions.”
She shifted closer, wrapping an arm around your waist and pulling you into her. You could feel the steady beat of her heart against your chest as she snuggled into you. “I missed this,” she said softly. “Just... being with you.”
You smiled, brushing a few strands of hair away from her face. “Me too.”
Sabrina looked up at you, her face just inches from yours. “So... wanna order breakfast in bed? Or, I mean, brunch, since we slept through half the morning?”
You chuckled. “Brunch sounds perfect. But only if we make it together.”
She raised an eyebrow playfully. “Oh, now we’re cooking? Alright, but no promises I won’t burn anything.”
You laughed, shaking your head. “It’s just pancakes. I think we can handle it.”
Sabrina smiled, leaning in to give you a quick kiss. “Okay, let’s do it. But I’m holding you responsible if it turns into a total disaster.”
The two of you eventually made your way to the kitchen, still in your pajamas. As you started mixing ingredients, Sabrina turned on some music, bobbing her head to the beat as she grabbed the frying pan. “You know, I kinda love mornings like this,” she said, flipping a pancake in the air with a confident grin. “We should do it more often.”
You watched her, laughing as she danced around the kitchen. “Definitely. I mean, I’m not complaining about this view.”
Sabrina shot you a playful look, catching your eye as she set the spatula down. “Flattery will get you everywhere,” she teased, leaning in for another quick kiss before focusing back on the stove.
As the pancakes cooked, you and Sabrina moved around the kitchen in sync, laughing and chatting about random things. It wasn’t glamorous, but it felt perfect—just the two of you, sharing a simple morning together.
When everything was ready, you both took your plates back to bed, sitting side by side under the covers. Sabrina took a bite and made a face. “Okay, so maybe I burned mine a little... but, like, it’s still edible, right?”
You laughed, taking a bite of your own. “Yours has ‘character.’”
Sabrina grinned. “Yeah, that’s one way to put it.”
As you both ate, Sabrina reached for your hand under the blankets, giving it a soft squeeze. “I know this is, like, super low-key, but... this might be one of my favorite mornings. Just you, me, and pancakes.”
You smiled, squeezing her hand back. “Mine too.”
Sabrina leaned in, resting her head on your shoulder as the two of you settled into the quiet comfort of the morning. And for a moment, everything felt right—just the two of you, wrapped up in the simple joy of being together.
