It was early morning, the soft sunlight streaming through the windows. You woke up to an empty bed, the faint sound of music drifting upstairs. Confused but intrigued, you slid out of bed and padded down the stairs, curious to see where Sabrina had disappeared to so early.
As you approached the kitchen, you paused at the doorway, smiling at what you saw. Sabrina was standing by the stove, wearing one of your oversized sweatshirts, her hair still a bit messy from sleep. She was completely in her own world, humming along to one of her own songs, which was playing quietly in the background.
But what made you smile even more was that she wasn’t just cooking—she was dancing. With the spatula in her hand, she was twirling and swaying around the kitchen, moving to the beat in the most carefree, adorable way. She even did a little spin, laughing at herself as she narrowly avoided bumping into the counter.
You leaned against the doorframe, trying to stifle your laughter as you watched her, but Sabrina must have felt your presence. She turned around mid-dance, her eyes widening when she caught sight of you watching her.
“Oh my god!” she gasped, a deep blush creeping onto her cheeks. “You were watching me the whole time?”
You laughed, walking over to her. “I mean, how could I not? You’re putting on quite the performance, Miss Carpenter.”
Sabrina let out an embarrassed laugh, shaking her head. “I swear, I wasn’t planning on giving you a show. I was just… in the moment.”
You smiled, wrapping your arms around her waist as she still held the spatula. “Well, I loved it. I didn’t know you could dance so well in the kitchen.”
She rolled her eyes playfully, trying to brush off the teasing. “Yeah, yeah. I was just trying to make breakfast, not become a TikTok sensation.”
You glanced over her shoulder at the food on the stove. “Wait, did you wake up early just to make breakfast for me?”
Sabrina smiled, biting her lip shyly. “Maybe… I just wanted to surprise you, you know, spoil you a little.”
Your heart melted at her words. “You’re so sweet, Sabs.”
She shrugged, the blush still lingering on her cheeks. “I figured you deserved a nice morning. Plus, it gave me an excuse to play my music and dance around without you catching me—well, at least that was the plan.”
You laughed softly, leaning in to kiss her. “You’re the cutest.”
Sabrina smiled against your lips, then pulled back, her eyes sparkling with that playful look she always had when she was in a good mood. “You want to join me for a little dance while we wait for the food to finish?”
You grinned, taking her hand. “How could I say no?”
With her hand in yours, Sabrina spun you around the kitchen, both of you laughing as you danced to her music. The smell of breakfast filled the air, the soft sunlight warming the room as you twirled and swayed together. It was the perfect, carefree moment, just you and her, dancing like no one was watching.
As the song played on, Sabrina pulled you close, resting her forehead against yours. “I love these mornings with you,” she whispered softly. “I wouldn’t trade them for anything.”
You smiled, your heart full as you leaned in to kiss her again. “I love them too, Sabs. And I love you.”
With that, the two of you continued to dance, the kitchen your own little stage, as the morning light bathed you in warmth. It was moments like these—simple, sweet, and filled with love—that made everything perfect.
