city lights

The city lights stretched out beneath you like a sea of stars, twinkling and shimmering in the cool night air. You stood there on a hill, high above it all, with Sabrina nestled against your side. The world seemed to fade away, leaving just the two of you, alone in your little bubble, far from the noise and rush below.

Sabrina sighed contentedly, leaning her head against your shoulder as her fingers traced lazy circles on your arm. “This is perfect,” she murmured softly, her breath warm against your neck.

You glanced down at her, smiling. "It really is," you agreed, pulling her closer. Her warmth was a welcome contrast to the crisp chill of the night. You wrapped your arm around her, resting your chin lightly on top of her head as you both gazed out at the glowing cityscape.

“I don’t think I’ve ever seen the city like this before,” Sabrina said, her voice dreamy. “It’s beautiful. But not as beautiful as right now… here with you.”

You chuckled softly, feeling a blush creep into your cheeks. “You're cheesy, you know that?”

Sabrina laughed, a sweet, musical sound that echoed in the stillness of the night. “Maybe, but I’m just telling the truth. This—” she gestured to the scene before you, then to the two of you wrapped in each other’s arms—“it’s my favorite kind of night.”

You pulled her even closer, the warmth of her body soothing as the night air wrapped around you both. “I wouldn’t trade this moment for anything,” you whispered, your voice soft as you pressed a kiss into her hair.

Sabrina lifted her head to look up at you, her eyes shimmering like the stars overhead. “I love being up here with you. It feels like we’re in our own little world, like nothing else matters.”

You smiled and leaned down to kiss her softly, her lips warm against the cold air. The kiss was slow, unhurried—like time didn’t exist, and you could stay in this moment forever. When you pulled back, she rested her forehead against yours, her eyes closed, breathing in the quiet peace of the night.

“I could stay here forever,” she whispered, her voice full of affection.

“Me too,” you replied, brushing a strand of hair from her face. “But even if we were back down there, in the middle of everything, it’d still feel like this… because I’m with you.”

Sabrina smiled softly, her eyes shining with love as she snuggled closer into your chest. “I love you,” she whispered, her voice barely audible over the gentle breeze.

“I love you too,” you murmured back, wrapping both arms around her as you stood there, just holding each other, watching the lights flicker below.

The world might have been bustling and noisy down there, but up here, in this moment, it was just you and Sabrina, lost in your own quiet, perfect universe.
