Sabrina was in the middle of an intense day, shooting her new music video. The crew was everywhere—cameras, lights, makeup artists rushing to fix her look between takes. She was focused, professional, making sure everything was perfect, but something in the back of her mind had been nagging her all day. She couldn’t place it, but it felt off.
Her phone, resting on a nearby table, began to buzz, but she didn’t notice at first. One of the crew members, however, did. They picked it up and rushed over to Sabrina. "Hey, Sabrina, it’s an urgent call."
She grabbed the phone, still somewhat distracted, but when she saw the name on the screen—*your name*—her heart stopped for a second. You never called her in the middle of shoots.
"Hello?" she answered quickly, stepping away from the chaos for a moment. The voice on the other end wasn’t yours. It was panicked, rushed, and the words that followed felt like a punch to her chest.
"Ma’am, this is the hospital. Your girlfriend’s been in a severe car accident. You need to come now."
Sabrina’s breath hitched, her entire body going cold. "W-wait, what? What are you saying? Where—how bad is it?!" She started pacing, her hand trembling as she clutched the phone tighter.
"She’s in critical condition. There’s a lot of blood, and we’re doing everything we can. You need to get here."
The phone nearly slipped from her hand. "I—okay, I’m coming right now. Please, don’t let anything happen to her." Her voice cracked, raw with desperation. She hung up, her heart pounding so loud it drowned out the rest of the world.
Without a word to the crew, Sabrina grabbed her jacket and rushed off the set, not caring about the chaos she left behind. She fumbled with her keys, her hands shaking as she got into the car. She felt like she was in a nightmare, her mind racing with images of you hurt, broken, and bleeding. Tears pricked at her eyes, but she forced them back. She had to stay strong—for you.
By the time she reached the hospital, she was barely holding it together. She sprinted inside, breathless and panicked, heading straight for the front desk.
"Where is she? My girlfriend, y/n, where is she?!" Her voice was frantic, her wide eyes pleading for any news.
A nurse led her down the sterile hallways toward the trauma unit, explaining the extent of your injuries as they walked. Sabrina could barely process the words—"severe blood loss," "broken ribs," "unconscious"—it all blended together into a terrifying blur.
When she finally saw you, her heart shattered. You were lying on the hospital bed, hooked up to machines, blood-soaked bandages covering parts of your body. Sabrina’s breath caught in her throat, and tears she couldn’t hold back anymore began to spill down her cheeks.
"God, no..." she whispered, her voice breaking as she rushed to your side. She gently took your hand in hers, careful not to touch anything that might hurt you. "Baby, please, you have to be okay. I can’t—" Her voice cracked again, raw and filled with pain. "You can't leave me. I need you. We have too much left to do together."
She kissed your hand softly, resting her forehead against it, her tears falling onto your skin. "You’re so strong, babe. You’ll get through this. You have to. I’m right here, okay? I’m not going anywhere."
The doctors came in, checking on you and giving Sabrina updates, but she barely registered their words. All she could do was sit there, holding onto you, praying with everything she had that you’d pull through.
Hours passed, and Sabrina refused to leave your side. Every beep from the machines felt like a knife to her heart, every shallow breath you took a painful reminder of how fragile this moment was.
Eventually, one of the doctors came in with a more detailed update. "She’s stable for now, but the next 24 hours are critical. We’ve done all we can, and now it’s up to her."
Sabrina wiped her eyes, nodding, though her mind was still spinning. She leaned in closer to you, her voice a soft, broken whisper. "I’m not letting go of you. You hear me? I’m here, and I’m staying right here until you open your eyes. You’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me, and I’m not gonna lose you."
She stayed there, watching over you, waiting for any sign that you’d come back to her.
The hours felt like days for Sabrina, sitting at your bedside, refusing to leave. Her fingers stayed intertwined with yours, the warmth of your hand the only thing keeping her grounded. She watched the machines beep steadily, praying for any sign of improvement.
Every so often, she would lean in, whispering to you as if her voice could somehow pull you out of the darkness. "I miss your laugh. You know? I miss you making fun of me for getting lyrics wrong. Come on, baby. You’ve gotta wake up." Her voice cracked, but she kept talking, as if the sound of her love could somehow reach you.
It was the dead of night when something changed. Sabrina had been resting her head on the side of your bed, completely exhausted, when she felt your hand twitch. At first, she thought she was imagining it, her mind playing tricks on her from sheer exhaustion.
But then it happened again.
Her head shot up, and she looked at your face, her heart racing. "Wait—" she whispered, her voice trembling with hope. "Baby? Can you hear me?"
Your eyelids fluttered for a moment before they slowly opened. The light was blinding, and everything was a blur, but you could feel her hand in yours, her voice the first thing you registered.
"Sabrina..." you whispered, your voice hoarse and weak, but it was enough.
Sabrina gasped, tears welling up in her eyes all over again, but this time, they were tears of relief. "Oh my God, you’re awake!" she cried, standing up and gently cupping your face with her free hand, careful not to overwhelm you. "You’re okay—you’re here. I thought I lost you."
You blinked slowly, still trying to process everything. "What... happened?"
Sabrina’s voice was shaking, and she wiped away her tears quickly, a smile breaking through despite the storm of emotions in her chest. "You got into a really bad accident. I was so scared, babe. They didn’t know if you’d make it." She paused, her thumb brushing softly against your cheek. "But you’re here now. You’re okay."
You gave a small, tired smile. "Guess you can’t get rid of me that easily."
She let out a shaky laugh, a mix of relief and disbelief washing over her. "You’re never leaving me again, do you hear me?" Her voice softened, her eyes still shining with tears. "I love you so much. I was so scared. I—I didn’t know what I’d do if you didn’t wake up."
You squeezed her hand weakly, feeling the depth of her fear, her love, in every word. "I’m not going anywhere, I promise."
Sabrina leaned down, pressing a gentle kiss to your forehead, her lips lingering there as she finally let the relief wash over her. "I’m so glad you’re okay," she whispered, her breath warm against your skin. "We’ve got too much left to do together."
You smiled up at her, the love in her eyes wrapping around you like a protective blanket. "Yeah. We do."
The room was quiet, but it was filled with something powerful—something more than relief. It was the kind of connection that could weather anything, even the darkest moments. Sabrina stayed by your side, holding onto you as if you might disappear again. But this time, she knew—you were here to stay.
