He looked at me as I asked the question, his heart racing in his chest. He had been hoping for me to ask that. He spoke quietly, his voice filled with relief and happiness. "Yes, of course we can. I would love nothing more than to be in a relationship with you."
He smiled widely at his own words, feeling a wave of relief and excitement wash over him. The idea of being in a relationship with me was something he had been wanting for a while. He spoke again, his voice still soft but filled with happiness. "I want to be there for you and the baby, in every way that I can. And if that means being in a relationship with you, then I'm more than willing to take on that responsibility."
I listened to him "Thank you..."
"You don't have to thank me. It's what I want, more than anything else. I want to be in a relationship with you, to be there for you and the baby, to support and care for you both."
He paused for a moment, his mind still swirling with excitement and happiness at the prospect of being in a relationship with me. He then speaks more firmly. "I want to be your partner, your support system. And I promise I will do everything in my power to make this work. To take care of you and the baby and to be the best father and partner I can be."
He reached out and placed his hand on my arm, his fingers gently touching my skin. He spoke again, his voice filled with determination. "I will always be here for you, through everything. You and this baby mean more to me than you could ever know. And I will do everything I can to make sure you are both protected, cared for and loved."
He smiled as I cuddled into his embrace, his arms wrapping around me and holding me close. He spoke softly as he held me, his voice filled with tenderness. "I missed this," He continued, his words coming out in a whisper. "I missed holding you."
He tightened his arms around me, pulling me closer to him, wanting to feel every inch of me against him. He spoke again, his voice soft but filled with emotion. "Being able to hold you like this makes me feel complete. Like I have everything I need, right here in my arms."
He pressed his face against my hair, inhaling my scent and feeling contentment wash over him. He spoke quietly, his voice still filled with affection. "I don't know what the future holds, but as long as I have you, I know we'll be okay."
It was now night 11 pm, he carefully scooped me up into his arms, being careful not to wake me up. He then carried me across the room and into his room. Once inside, he gently lays me down on the bed, being mindful not to jostle me too much and risk waking me up. He then sat next to me on the bed for a few moments, watching me sleep. He spoke quietly to himself. "You're so beautiful..."
He continued to sit there for a few more moments, watching the gentle rise and fall of my chest with every breath. After a while, he leaned down and pressed a soft kiss to my forehead. He spoke quietly once more, his voice barely above a whisper. "Sleep well, my love."
He then quietly got up from the bed, trying not to make any noise that might wake me up. He carefully closed the door behind him, leaving me to sleep in peace. He walked over to the couch in the living room and sat down, knowing that he would stay awake for a while, his mind filled with thoughts about me and the baby.
He sat on the couch, his mind racing with a thousand different thoughts. He thought about the baby, about me and the relationship I had just agreed to, about his feelings and emotions. He knew he should try to get some sleep, but he couldn't. His mind was too active, too worked up. He knew he should try to get some sleep, but he couldn't. His mind was too active, too worked up.
The time passed slowly, the night dragging on. He tried to distract himself with his phone, but he couldn't focus on anything. He kept thinking about me, about the baby, about the future. He couldn't stop his mind from wandering, from going over every possible scenario and worry.
After what felt like an eternity, the first rays of sunlight began to peek through the curtains, signalling the arrival of a new day. He looked at the time on his phone and saw that it was just after 6 am. He hadn't slept a wink all night.
He stood up from the couch, his body stiff and achy from sitting in the same position all night. He stretched his arms above his head, trying to ease some of the tension in his muscles. He then walked over to the bedroom door and slowly opened it, peering inside to see if I was still asleep.
He saw me lying in the bed, my eyes still closed and my body still and peaceful. He didn't want to wake me up, knowing that I needed my rest. He quietly closed the bedroom door once more and walked into the kitchen, starting to prepare breakfast. He knew that I would wake up soon and be hungry.
He set about making a simple breakfast of eggs and toast. He hoped that it would be enough to satisfy my cravings. As he cooked, he kept his ears open for any noise coming from the bedroom, listening for any sign that I was waking up.
He continued to cook, his mind still swirling with thoughts but focused on the task at hand. He finished making the eggs and toast and plated them, setting them aside. He then poured a glass of orange juice, hoping that it would provide some hydration and vitamins for me and the baby.
