"I'm not even doing anything wrong, you know how your men are comfortable with me, they're protective all of them are. If you're that insecure that I would leave you for someone else then you don't even know me,".
Arsenio clenched his fists tighter, his jaw tight with anger and frustration. "It's not about insecurity," he snapped. "It's about respect. You're my wife, and I don't want you getting all buddy-buddy with other men, especially not right in front of my eyes."
"So I'm not allowed to speak to another man because you're pissed off. I love you, I married you and we have a baby together so why would I run off and ruin what we have? I am so respectful to you as well." I said firmly, standing my ground.
Arsenio's expression darkened, his anger and jealousy escalating. "It's not about you speaking to other men, it's about the way you were with Mark," he said, his voice rising in volume. "The way he was touching you, how close you were sitting. It was too familiar, too intimate."
"Well, next time I see one of the women touching you again. It goes both ways," I stood up holding Tenebroso to my chest.
Arsenio's eyes widened at my words, his expression a mix of surprise and anger. "What do you mean, next time you see one of the women touching me?" he snapped his tone now defensive. "What are you talking about? No one's touching me like that."
"People tell me things, last night some blonde girl touched you at the bar," I glared at him.
Arsenio's expression softened slightly, a hint of guilt appearing in his eyes. "So what if a woman touched me at the bar? It was nothing, just casual interaction," he said, trying to downplay the situation.
"So if Mark touches my leg to comfort me it's in the wrong but a random woman you do not know touches you it's okay. If you want to play like that Arsenio, you will find a divorce paper sitting on your desk. So watch your back," I continued to glare.
Arsenio's eyes widened at my threat, a flicker of fear and disbelief passing through them. "You...you can't be serious," he said, his voice suddenly softer, almost pleading. "You'd really leave me because of something like this?"
"No, you do not control me over who I see. I let you go out with the men after missions whilst I'm at home looking after our baby. If you want to act like a single man, you can. But I will not tolerate it," I looked at him.
"Well, start controlling it," I snapped sharply.
Arsenio stood silently for a moment, watching as I stormed out of the room with Tenebroso in my arms. He clenched his fists, a mixture of remorse and frustration warring within him. "Damn it," he muttered to himself, raking a hand through his hair. "I didn't mean for it to go like that..."
He exhaled deeply, trying to control his emotions and gather his thoughts. He knew he had overreacted and allowed his jealousy to get the better of him. He also understood that he needed to find a way to curb his possessive nature, or risk driving me away.
With a heavy heart, he decided to give me some space for now, knowing that it would be best to let things cool down before attempting to talk to me again. Arsenio spent the next few hours pacing around the house, his mind preoccupied with thoughts of me and the argument we had earlier. He knew he had messed up and allowed his insecurities and jealousy to cloud his judgment.
He thought back on my words, how I had threatened to leave him if he continued behaving like this. The thought of losing me and his family sent a pang of pain through his chest, making him feel even more guilty and regretful.
As the day wore on, Arsenio began to feel increasingly anxious and restless. He wanted to apologise to me, to make things right, but he was unsure how to approach me. He knew I was angry and upset and he didn't want to make the situation worse.
Eventually, the sun began to set, casting long shadows across the room. Arsenio found himself sitting in the family room, his mind still filled with thoughts of me and our argument.
On the other hand, I was sitting outside in the backyard with Mark telling him about the situation. Mark listened intently as I relayed the details of the argument I had with Arsenio. He shook his head with a mix of disappointment and frustration.
"He's behaving like a damn child," he muttered, still shaking his head. "He's got a beautiful, loyal wife, a healthy, gorgeous baby, and he's throwing it away with this jealous, controlling crap."
He sighed, a look of annoyance on his face. "He needs to learn how to trust you. You're not going to cheat on him, and if he keeps up this behaviour, he's only going to end up pushing you away."
"The fact is he thinks women touching him is okay but he got mad over how me and you are close," I sighed as I looked down at Tenebroso.
Mark let out a scoff, his expression hardening. "Yeah, that's bullshit. He can't expect you to tolerate his flirting with other women while getting mad at you for being friendly with me. It's a double standard, and it's completely unfair to you."
"It's normal for women after birth to be insecure but he is the one who is acting like that. I let him go out and be with you and the other men after missions to celebrate and I'm sat at home with Tene which I love doing but he should be home too," I said gently.
Mark nodded in agreement, his expression sympathetic. "You're a damn good wife, Indira. You're supportive, and understanding, and take care of your family. But he should also be there for you, not making accusations and getting jealous over nothing."
