Natalia pov

Everyone was so tired and broken , the king offered to have the buses take us home , plus we needed a way to bring home the wolves who were injured and also the ones who lost their lives ,our pack lost 20 wolves, during the war every time the bond broke confirm we lost another wolf , I felt Kylo's anger and it made his wolf more feral, no Alpha liked losing a pack member especially in a war, Kylo said he'll make sure they have a well deserved funeral, here I am wrapped up in his arms , sweaty, bloody , and smelling like smoke , my hair is sticking to my forehead and I know my eyes are red and puffy from crying , it all I can think about is going home to hug my pups and tell them how much I love them,what I saw tonight is etched in my brain and will be staying there for a while, I needed to feel my pups, hear their little heart beat my wolf was restless and so was I, Kylo must have felt my unease,because he started rubbing my back, before nuzzling his face into my neck "baby ours three pups are home safe"
"I know but I still need to see them and feel them, I said through tears, I cried silently, I cried until I must have fell asleep, because the next thing I know Kylo was waking me up , he would have carried me to our house, but he had to help with taking the Bodies of our slain warriors to the pack morgue so they can be prepared for their funerals, I was just standing there staring off into space when I felt someone's warm embrace, it was as Kayla she was hugging me and I hugged her back , I felt her hot tears run down my shoulder, " I'm so happy to be back home,I lost a friend and it hurts so bad Lia , he was such an amazing person" she kept crying and crying soon Mason came and took her , I felt bad for her, one of the warriors that died was her good friend since high school,
"Baby are you okay ? Kylo's hoarse voice pulled me from my stupor , " yes I'm fine , I need the key so I can go see my pups I told him "
" baby I know you need to see your pups , but maybe you should get cleaned up , eat something and rest a little , I'll have mom bring them to the house by the time you're finished , he said pleadingly, I reluctantly agreed, but I knew he was right, the twins can sense my distress and Love was too smart for her age , she would have lots of questions , so we walked home , once I enter the house and it's familiar scent I grew to love embraced me, I released the breath I didn't t know I was holding, the faint lingering scent of my pups instantly calmed me , making me relax, I ran upstairs and into the shower , I didn't want to waste anymore time , I needed to see my pups before I lost it, I could feel Kylo behind me , I also could feel his worries , he was worried about me and my erratic behavior, I was concerned about myself too, the only thing I could blame it on , was a trauma response to everything I experienced today , I think after I see my pups , I'll be okay,I turned the shower on allowing the water to heat up while I removed the bloody stained clothes and putting them in the trash, I once I got into the shower and the warm water touched my skin, I felt an instant relief, I heard the shower door opened and Kylo came in, he poured shampoo into my hair, before he started scrubbing my scaly, this felt amazing, once he was finished washing my hair , he poured my Dr bronners lavender wash on my washcloth before he proceeded to bathe me passionately, once he was finished I did the same to him ,this felt like we cleansed each other of the gruesome night , him bathing was definitely on my list of the things he do that I appreciate and love, once I was dressed in my pajamas, because once I got my pups I was going back to bed,Kylo had already left to go downstairs and I figured he was getting us food , and just as suspected, he came upstairs wit two plates he handed me one, it was a egg , ham and cheese croissant,
"I figured you were hungry so I made something quick he said, " thanks baby I said while kissing him on the lips , what time our pups coming " soon baby , let's take a nap until they get here , everyone has to be evacuated from the bunks , he said as much as I didn't want to take a nap I knew I had to , so I laid in his arms and gave into sleep.

Kylo's pov

Natalia was still sleeping, mom dropped the pups off 20 minutes ago and I know once she wakes up and find out I didn't wake her as soon as they got here , she's going to chew me out, but I can handle that what I can't handle is her being tired and pushing herself to go on, that's not healthy, she used up a lot of energy using her magic last night, she made me so proud, "daddy , daddy can I have some more please Love asked while showing me her empty plate , I made pancakes and made the twins their bottles, I loved being a father and seeing those dead pups really made me cherish my pups, it made me get this extra sense to always protect them at all cost , I don't want to let them out my sight,I wanted to go make arrangements for the slain wolves to be buried , but pops told me to rest and spend time with my pups , he would take care of it , it's never easy losing a pack member, especially ones you grew up with, I heard the door to our bedroom open , the. I heard footsteps coming down the stairs, so that meant Natalia was awake ,
"Baby how long have they been here she asked
"Maybe and hour , I knew you were tired so I fed them , I would have waked you after they finished eating
" thanks baby she said, which shocked me , I was expecting her to chew me out for not waking her , she hugged Love, before making her way to the twins who were grinning when they saw her , she picked up Alex first and cradled him into her arms inhaling his baby scent , she then did the same with Alexandria , once she was finished she just kept looking at them and smiling , she stayed like that for 20 minutes, until she joined me on the couch , where Love and I was now watching a movie, we watched the movie in silence , just enjoying the fact we're all alive and well, I pulled Natalia closer to me so that I could feel the sparks from the mate bond,this feeling kept me grounded.
As the days went by life slowly went back to normal , I woke up took Love to school, trained, came back home had breakfast with my mate and pups, then went to work in the basement, Natalia and I decided we would work from home for now , it was just hard leaving our pups. The week of the funeral was the hardest, the pack was filled with sadness and despair , I made sure to give them a proper send off, I also made a memorial park and in the park is a plaque with all the warriors whose life was lost, this is something we'll continue when ever a pack member dies going forward, Natalia came up with the idea and I loved it , she wanted to find a way to honor the warriors and never let them be forgotten for their sacrifices. Kayla and Mason finally got married and here we are at their reception, I was happy for my best friend and my sister, I'm happy they got it together before it was too late, I couldn't imagine life without Natalia or our pups, speaking of Natalia, I haven't seen my mate since she gave her speech, so I started following her scent , where I found her in one of the gardens with a crying Amaris ,"is everything okay I asked
"Alpha I'm pregnant, Amaris blurted out
"Isn't that a good thing I asked her confused as to why she was so hysterical when her and her mate were good and she told me she wanted pups
"It is but Kaiden isn't happy , he doesn't want pups , she said she I'm not terminating my pregnancy so I think we'll be breaking up she said before she started crying again
"I rubbed my temples, and closed my eyes to reign in my wolf , who was so mad at Kaiden , if he didn't want pups he should have used protection, how can he get his mate pregnant then get mad at her because she doesn't want to terminate it , does he know how amazing it feels to be a father , to hold your pups and inhale their little scents , I get it , it's not for everyone but he messed up and he needs to take responsibility and be a damn man, I mind link him telling him to meet me by my office now ,Axel was furious,Amaris was like a sister to Axel and I , she had done so much for Love and Natalia , and as much as Kaiden was my cousin the was wrong,
"Hello Kylo, wassup Kaidian greeted me
"Cut the bullshit you know why I called you ,I get that you may have not wanted pups , but you should have taken the necessary measures to make sure that didn't happen, now that it has happened, why would you want your Mate to terminate her pregnancy, I growled , you made a mistake so man up and take care of it ,

"But nothing Kaiden, interrupted him , do you know how hurt that girl is , she crying hysterically right now , that's not good for her or the pup,I know it's scary, but you will make an amazing father Kaiden, it will come so natural to you , and you have a caring and loving mate so she'll make it easy as well, please just give it a chance, if after the pup is born and still feel the same way you can give it up for adoption, or something but at least give it a chance
He didn't reply but I knew my cousin, he knew I was right , if he thought I wasn't he wouldn't shut up about it , I patted his back before I mind link Natalia telling her to have Amaris meet Kaiden in my office , I waited for her at the office door , where I gave her a encouraging hug, I closed the door and made my way back to the wedding reception where I found my mate waiting on me , I pulled her to the dance floor where we spent the rest of the night dancing ,laughing and talking, the mate bond was a beautiful thing , and once you into it , it's hard to stay away , I knew Kaiden and Amaris would figure it out, and once he hears that first heart beat he'll fall in love with that pup.
