Not much happened after I went to Mickeys. I had talked to Casey about Noah coming home today. Noah had always been my mom's favorite. To the blind eye you wouldn't see it but when you actually came and looked closely it was quite obvious. Sure my mom loved me but never as much as she loved Noah which I had to grow to be ok with. My dad always made up for my mother though. He made me feel like an Equal to Noah. Despite all of that I never held it against Noah I mean it was never his fault. I just hurt that after dad died she just stopped caring in general. She would just let Mike hit me over the slightest things she didn't even look sorry. I'm just happy it will all take a break as soon as Noah gets here.
All that's besides the point because Todays the first game as the Ducks! After the hopeful win I get to see Noah and have the annual dinner with the Germaine's which I'm not completely dreading.
Today Jesse and Terry were walking to come and pick me up. I love those boys with all my heart. I woke up early today to just go outside to avoid any possible encounters with Mike or my mom. Though I have to say they're in a better mood because of Noah. I mean Noah doesn't necessarily like Mike but he respects him in a way.
I broke out of my daydream as I heard Jesse and Terry yell out my name at the foot of my drive way.
"Come on Grace it's time to get a move on!" Jesse shouted.
"I thought I told you to stop calling me by my middle name Jess!" I chuckled walking up to them.
"Well I don't care because I like it. Now tell me what the hell happened to your face?" Wow he was quite blunt about it.
"Wow Jess that's like the number one thing you should never say to a girl!" I say.
"Well you know what I mean. Like what's up with all of the bruises on your face? I know for a fact you ain't tripping on the ice that much."
Ok wow. He's the first one to actually call me out on this. Keep cool. Ya.
"Oh well you know just living life... having fun!" I said with mock enthusiasm in my voice.
"Ya having fun beaten yourself up?" Terry entered in the conversation. Jesse just gave his brother a stern look before hitting his arm. I don't know why I'm still trying to hide this.
"No Terry being beat up!" Duh.
"Woah woah woah.. beat up by who? I'll go after them!" Jesse said anger clearly evident in his voice.
"No Jess he'd probably kill you. You've seen what he can do to my face! It's like that everywhere man. I don't know what to do anymore! I feel like everyone knows! Shoot even the Hawks know. UGH!!" Jesse didn't even hesitate to just walk up and hug me in the middle of the sidewalk, Terry joining the hug slightly after.
"Savannah who did it?" Jesse asked his voice much calmer.
"It's stupid Mike! My mom doesn't even care! She just sits back and lets him do it.
Jesse didn't even have to say anything. He just grabbed my hand as we continued the walk to the rink for our game against the Cardinals. moments like these are why I never doubt mine and Jesse's friendship. He's probably my best friend.
After a silent walk to the arena we finally made it. We walked into the locker room to see the team getting hyped.
"The Jess guy, making moves on The banana of Savannah! The Jess-a-moves!" Was the first thing I heard as we walked into the locker room. Everyone's head immediately snapped up. Guys head snapped up the fastest by far though.
"Shush Averman! Me and Jess are simply platonic! He was just helping me feel better about Mike!"
"Why what does Mike do?" I heard someone ask. I'm not quite sure though because my life can literally change if I don't choose my words wisely.
