Chapter 24: Like the Girl Who Fell

Narrator's POV

Was there anything more scary than a usually composed man's anger?

The way the earth seemed to resonate with Percy's rage.

The winds seemed to carry wails of the unknowns.

The earth shook as if it was the time of doom.

The sky darkened

The booming of thunder and crackle of lightning was the only thing people would hear other than the harsh wind in their ears.

All because of a single man's rage.

Percy flew upwards, Not minding what people would think of him; after searching the ocean, both manually or with his control over the sea, He came to face a harsh reality: Annabeth wasn't here.

When he landed on the cliff, He noticed what he was subconsciously doing to the surroundings, ignoring the looks of incredulity and confusion.

Seeing Nico and Bianca staring at him with fear in their eyes, Thalia was weakly on the ground, Grover being her support; on the other part of the field were Artemis and her hunters.

Percy's eyes rested on the girl who ordered them to shoot.

"I told you to stop."

He took a step forward, Everyone held their breath as the pressure seemed to intensify, But Artemis, in her little form, stood in front of the female possessively; she knew if her hunter and Percy clashed right now, all that would happen was her hunter getting a major, One-sided beat down.

It would pain her to say, But in all of Greece, Percy is the only person on a level of his own; his nightly activities fighting monsters on his own were a testament.

"They were trying to help Perseus"

"Tsk"

Percy clicked his tongue and looked away, forcing his anger back. The floor stopped shaking, and the clouds dispersed, but the snow didn't, he ignored the hunt and went to help Thalia up...

He could hear some whispers going around in the hunt.

"Did that boy just fly?"

"Did he cause all of that ?"

"Why is our lady being so nice to that Male? She should turn him into a rabbit"

They addressed any masculine thing as if it were poisonous and didn't deserve to exist.

The hunters advanced on them.

The one Percy almost attacked stopped short when she saw Thalia. "You," she said with distaste.

"Zoe Nightshade." Thalia's voice trembled with anger. "Perfect timing, as usual."

Zoe scanned the rest of us. "Four half-bloods and a satyr, my lady."

"Yes," the younger girl said. "Some of Chiron's campers, I see."

"Lady Artemis and her Hunters."

Percy's voice was cold and unwelcoming. He eyed Zoe as if he wanted to kill her, but rationality held him back.

Thalia shared his unwelcoming glare.

Nico and Bianca were confused.

That was nothing compared to Grover. He gasped, then knelt hastily in the snow and started yammering, "Thank you, Lady Artemis! You're so… you're so… Wow!"

"Get up, goat boy!" Thalia snapped. "We have other things to worry about. Annabeth is gone!"

"Whoa," Bianca di Angelo said. "Hold up. Time out."
