Chapter 27: The nightmare

That night was the worst Percy had since he left the mythology nonsense to focus on his family and school; this is the second time The Greek nonsensical war was taking his family from him.

After talking to Tyson via Iris message using a fountain and Drachma gifted by his dad, He found out that they were preparing for war with the old rulers of the seas; he spoke to his mom, Who was pissed he ditched her, She felt the earthquake and thunderstorms from Percy's anger and was worried, She was still waiting for him with Medusa close to Westover Hall.

But when she heard Percy's tone and the story he told her, Her worry deepened and her anger vanished.

She had to reassure him everything would be alright.

Was she sure about it though?

That night, dinner was missing a certain vibe; it was only him and Thalia sitting on the Poseidon table, Disrespecting the camp rules without care; usually, Annabeth would be challenging him to the battle of the minds, And Clarisse would be challenging Thalia to a late night duel after dinner.

Nico sat with the Hermes cabin boys due to his being unclaimed by his parent.

The Ares table was dull, with other cabins having little to no one present; Even the Aphrodite Cabin was empty.

The only table that seemed to be having a good time was the Artemis table. The Hunters drank and ate and laughed like one big happy family. Zoe sat at the head like she was the mama. She didn't laugh as much as the others, but she did smile from time to time. Her silver lieutenant's band glittered in the dark braids of her hair. Percy thought she looked a lot nicer when she smiled. Bianca di Angelo seemed to be having a great time. She was trying to learn how to arm wrestle from the big girl who'd picked a fight with the Ares kid on the basketball court. The bigger girl was beating her every time, but Bianca didn't seem to mind.

When they finished eating, Chiron made the customary toast to the gods and formally welcomed the Hunters of Artemis. The clapping was pretty halfhearted. Then he announced the "goodwill" capture-the-flag game for tomorrow night, which got a lot better reception.

Afterwards, They all trailed back to their cabins for an early, winter lights out, Percy was tired and he secretly wanted to open a portal to his house and sleep with his mom, But Thalia had a similar Idea, She showed up at Percy's cabin with a pillow and in her PJ's

"Can I-" She didn't finish her sentence before Percy pulled her in, threw her on the bed, and cuddled into her, His hoarse voice saying, "You'd do," before he tightly hugged her to sleep.

Thalia's POV

There is no way I can sleep with him hugging me like this.

I can hear my heart beating loudly, He's so...  Comfortable.

Before I knew it, I was knocked out cold; sleeping with Percy made me feel better, Removing the guilt I felt from losing Annabeth, even if it was temporary.

Sleeping in Percy's arms was the good part. The bad part was, that I had a nightmare, and even by my standards it was a whopper, nothing as bad as being stuck in a tree for years; It made me worry

Annabeth was on a dark hillside, shrouded in fog. It almost seemed like the Underworld because I immediately felt claustrophobic, and I couldn't see the sky above—just a close, heavy darkness, as if I were in a cave.

Annabeth struggled up the hill. Old broken Greek columns of black marble were scattered around, as though something had blasted a huge building to rums.

"Thorn!" Annabeth cried. "Where are you? Why did you bring me here?" She scrambled over a section of broken wall and came to the crest of the hill.

She gasped.
