Chapter 3: First Quest

Location: Camp half-blood
Percy's Pov

The camp was no different from school, once put in minimum effort and excel at everything you'll find fake friends, crushes and people who'd hate you completely, But Clarisse at least made it bearable even though at first she tried to kill me with any chance she got but I had to remind her of two things first, I was stronger than her by a large margin second, I won't do anything other than embarrass her when her pride pops up, I and Annabeth have a decent level of friendship but we mostly argue most of the time all demigods have ADHD and Dyslexia I didn't I don't know how word got out but I ignored all questions concerning that me and Like became brothers but I still didn't trust him due to how he's mood changes when Annabeth talks about the Gods he hates them all which made him my first suspect in this lightning thief he's a good actor but his eye always betrays his friendly and helpful persona.

Right now Chiron is issuing a quest to me and any 2 additional people of my choice to journey to hades and retrieve the lightning bolt, After thinking for a while I thought 'Maybe I should take Grover' Clarisse was coming no questions asked but I wouldn't want to go on my first and the hardest quest possible with someone I don't know 'Maybe I'll ask Luke, Why can't I go alone again?' I feel it would be much easier with me by myself.

While monologuing I noticed Annabeth walking towards me staring intently at me "I'm coming" She declared stopping me in my tracks

"Wow, Luke must be a monster then huh?" She tilted her head not understanding my words for a second till it clean her face turning flushed red.

'Kids these days how did she know What I was referring to?' I stared at her making a deadpan expression "You meant you want to follow me on my quest right? "

"Y-Yeah" she shuttered still blushing.

"I don't see why not Just be careful to not get in the way I'll love to rush this as far as possible and lay low for a while" Annabeth rolled her eyes at my response then left to get ready I left to my Cabin to do the same.

My father enchanted my cabin so only I and the people I allow can enter but Clarisse could enter without permission probably my Dad playing tricks on me at least I know he cares, he's even going to war with his brother just to protect me, I cleared my head of the thoughts and prepared the things I needed. Which included riptide I suddenly forget it could transform into a pen at some point Luke personally handed me some stuff as good luck which included shoes that could help me fly which I found useless as Zeus would probably strike me down the second I enter his domain.

Clarisse slammed my doors open again I glared at her "You know boldly entering a males room that could lead to another type of war that you can handle daughter of Ares or not"

She blushed but her nature didn't let her back down "You have your sword I don't have a shield that's not an honourable battle so I'll skip that till I'm prepared yeah?" I rolled my eyes "Too bad your one-time offer is gone let's get Annabeth and head out."I told her.

"I forgot to ask earlier but what did the oracle tell you about the quest? " Clarisse asked me,

"Oh yeah, the Oracle well what she said was You I can not stare into your future neither can I tell your fate the only thing I can see is Then it went silent" I recalled 'I guess that's not normal 'Her reaction appeared surprised.

"You're weird" She commented before Annabeth popped up behind us "Where were you guys been? I have been waiting for 12 minutes."

I shrugged and walked past her, while Clarisse grinned and made a circle with her left fingers then placed her right-hand fingers through her left finger, Even a normal demigod would understand what Clarisse was hinting at.
