10. Please no

Throughout the day, Charlotte had been quiet and staring off into space. Finally, lunch came around, Charlotte and Carly being on break together. Charlotte went over to the sink in the staff room. While she was washing up, she started having a flash back.

Carly heard Charlotte stop rambling about her morning. The young girl looked round and spotted her frozen to the spot, completely vacant. Carly panicked, rushing over to her friend before turning off the tap and pushing Charlotte away gently, wrapping her arms around her friend tightly. Carly didn't know what to do and just tried to get Charlotte out of the situation that started this.

Charlotte saw red as Carly pushed her, the flash back clouding her better judgement and started shouting at Carly. No matter how hard she tried, hearing her best friend tear her apart broke Carlys heart.

Carly couldn't help but fight back tears. She was so focused on Charlotte and not letting the tears fall that she didn't notice she was, in fact, sobbing. The sounds of the young girls sobs snapped Charlotte out of it.

"Carly, my love, are you okay? What's happened?" She asks as she pulls carly into her chest and holds her tightly, forgetting her flashback and being her usual self.

After only a few moments, Marjorie walks in and spots Carly crying in Charlottes arms

"My love, i was just looking for you. When you are ready, come to my office, okay darling? " Marjorie says softly, not wanting to upset Carly further. She walks out, and Carly pulls away from Charlotte. "I better go and see what that's about," she said before quickly walking after Marjorie.

Carly reaches the office, knocking on the door as she walks in, looking at the floor. "Carly, what's wrong, my love?" Marjorie asked softly. "I hate to tell you this, Marjorie, but you need to call Mia. Char just, i dont even know what she done. She was washing up, and then she just zoned out completely. I turned the tap off and moved her away from the sink, and she pushed me and told me it was all my fault that shes like she was and that I had made her job harder. I started crying, and it's like she snapped, and the Char we know and loved came back. " Carly rambled on all in one breath.

Autumn sat at her desk, listening to Carly. She secretly felt sorry for the young girl, but she just stood up. "Thank you, Carly. I will call Mia and sit in the staff room with Charlotte. If she changes again, at least i can handle her." Autumn said, picking up her phone before walking to find Charlotte.

Marjorie made sure to sit with Carly and talk her through what just happened. "Me and Reece are having pizza and a movie night. You can join us if you want, then one of us will drop you home after." Marjorie offered calmly. Carly nodded. "Yes ple-" Carly was cut off by the office door swinging open. Mia stood in the doorway, clearly stressed. "Carly, my love, back to work, please. I need you to cover Char." Marjorie whispered before walking up to Mia. "You need to calm down. She's had a flash back and yelled at Carly. You going in stressed won't help her." Marjorie told Mia sternly but with care. Mia took a deep breath and nodded.

The closer to the staff room they got the louder the sound of crying got. Mia knocked on the door gently before walking in. There was Charlotte sat on the floor with Autumn holding her closely, stroking her hair. "Charlotte baby, it's me, Mia. Can you hear me. I'm going to sit with you and Auts." she said softly while moving closer. As soon as Charlotte heard her voice, she got away from Autumn and threw herself at mia. "Okay baby, it's okay, I'm right here, gorgeous girly, okay? Shhh, I will always protect you." she whispered. Autumn moved away slowly and stood next to Marjorie.

"There is so much Mia doesn't know about her. I think she just blurted out years' worth of truma in the last few minutes. She was calm, and then she just sort of let it all go." Autumn mumbled to Marjorie. "Charlotte, my darling, me and Autumn will go back to the office. Please go home when you are ready." she told her, but to everyones surprise, she reached her hand out to Marjorie "Please stay," she mumbled while trying to stop the tears that were in her eyes, threatening to fall once again. "Hey, it's okay, shhh. We can stay with you. How about you hold my hand for a minute till you calm down? " she whispered. Mia supported Charlottes head, holding her ear against her chest. "Listen to my heartbeat while you hold Marjories hand," Mia told her softly.

"I hurt Carly," she sobbed while fighting tears. "I hurt my work, sister," she continued. "No, you didn't.  I spoke to her, she's not hurt, it just shocked her. She's coming over to have a movie night after work with me and reece, so she is fine" Marjorie whispered while gently squeezing her hand. "I need to speak to her" she mumbled while trying to get away from Mias embrace. "Charlotte, enough now! If you calm down, I will go and get her, " Autumn told her sternly. She watched as she fell back against Mias chest in defeat before walking out the room. "Oh baby girl, it's okay.  You have all of us with you, but i need to let you go and get up because my bottom is hurting, " Mia whispered. Marjorie helped stand Charlotte up and pulled her into her chest while Mia stood up and moved to sit on the couch in the staff room.

Just as they followed Mia across the room, the staff room door opened. There stood Carly with Autumn right behind her. Charlotte pulled herself away from Marjorie and walked straight over to Carly. She stopped in front of her, Carly took a step back, bumping into Autumn slightly. Before anyone could say anything, Charlotte wrapped her arms around Carly tightly. "I'm so sorry," she whispered as Carly returned the hug, holding onto Charlotte tightly. "I'm okay, its okay. Char its fine, " she told her quietly as they stood in eachothers embrace.

Marjorie watched and noticed Carly hiding her head in Charlottes' neck before slowly walking over to them both. "My love, it's okay," she whispered to Carly. She just nodded slightly. "Carly, let go of Char. You are going to hurt her, then you will have Mia to watch out for," she told her. "Marjorie i can hear you" Mia snapped slightly. "Carly is fine, just leave them" she told her, Marjorie sighed and walked away. "I'm going back to work, its all fine in here" Autumn stated before walking out and heading back to the office.

Charlotte yawned as she held Carly. "Char baby, come and sit down, bring Carly if you have to" Mia told her. They slowly released each other before walking over to mia. Charlotte tried sitting on her lap, but mia moved her off. She pouted up at her with puppy dog eyes. "No, if you want to hug Carly, then you can't sit on me aswell" she told her as Carly sat down  next to Charlotte. "Carly, you have five minutes, my love till you need to get back to work, and Char can go home" Marjorie said quietly but Charlotte shook her head quickly. "I dont want to go home. I'm fine. I have stuff to do today. I got my reports to do" she said quickly while trying to stand up, but mia pulled her against her chest, pulling Carly with her as Charlotte didn't let go. "Sorry, Carly," mia whispered before taking the clip from Charlottes hair and scratching the top of her head. "Now shh, you have a bit more time with Carly, then we will go home, and we can watch a movie, and you can sleep for a bit."
