Lisa intentionally looked unhappy and said, "It's my grandfather's birthday, didn't you know? You still want me to go out and find you?"
He had not contacted her for several days; could she not be a little upset? Besides, she did not believe he was unaware of her grandfather's birthday banquet.
Jungkook replied, "With that tone, you seem a bit unhappy? I brought barbecue for you! Do you want to eat it? Come over."
"Not interested." She was wearing a slim evening gown tonight and had not even had dinner to maintain her figure. How could she give up her efforts for a bite of barbecue?
Jungkook teased, "There's roasted chicken skin!"
"Where are you?" She thought about it for a moment; perhaps eating a little wouldn't hurt. It's just chicken skin, what harm could it do?
Passing through the fountain with sculptures, Lisa finally found Jungkook. He was leaning against a black sports car, looking at her with a smile as she walked closer.
Lisa scanned him up and down, and he only carried a gift bag. She questioned, "Where's my barbecue?"
Jungkook's lips slightly curled up, his tone casual, "I lied to you."
Lisa lightly kicked him with her leg, saying, "Getting more gutsy now? You dare to lie to me.'
Jungkook chuckled softly, his deep and pleasant voice entered Lisa's ears, and somehow her cheeks turned slightly red. After not seeing each other for a few days, why did she find Jungkook so attractive now?
He asked, "If I didn't lie to you, would you have come out with me?" Lisa cleared her throat, "What do you want me to come out for?"
"I prepared a gift for your grandfather." He handed the gift bag to Lisa.
Lisa took a look; it was an antique-style box with a glass lid, containing a string of prayer beads. The beads were inscribed with peculiar and ancient-looking characters, giving it an aura of mystery. She was puzzled, "Why don't you go in?"
"Not interested. There are too many people in such occasions, and they'll bombard me with questions." Jungkook lowered his eyes, lost in thought.
Lisa thought for a moment and did not insist further. However, as she moved, she suddenly noticed something wrong. She looked down and found her heel stuck in a drain.
"Jungkook," she called out, feeling somewhat embarrassed. No matter how she tried, she could not pull it out. Without looking at him, she asked, "Can you help me back?"
She pulled her foot out of the shoe, deciding to abandon it!
There was a back door behind the villa where she could enter through a small path without being noticed. However, the path was quite far, and walking barefoot was not ideal. She raised her hand, about to ask Jungkook to support her, but he surprised her by lifting her horizontally. Instinctively, she wrapped her arms around his neck.
Jungkook chuckled, "Do you want to hug me that much?"
Lisa's ears turned red, "You're the one hugging me! Taking advantage of me!"
"Yeah. "
His acknowledgment only made Lisa's face even redder, and she buried her head in his embrace, "Let's hurry, don't let anyone see us; it's embarrassing."
Jungkook smiled but did not say anything.
They smoothly made their way past the front hall, but when they reached the second floor, someone blocked their path.
"Lisa, being indecent at Grandfather's birthday banquet, you're really filial, aren't you!"
Lisa turned to the source of the voice and met Sehun's icy gaze. She patted Jungkook, calmly asking him to let her down and half-leaning on him for support. If she had encountered someone else, she might have felt embarrassed, but in front of Sehun, she felt none at all. She casually replied, "Mr. Oh, which eye did you see us causing trouble? Please get your facts straight; this is my family's place! Mind your own business."
