In her past life, she had loved him humbly for over a decade, only to end up with a shattered home and a ruined life. And now, when she had finally let go and moved on, he claimed to have fallen for her? How was that possible? This was the man she had been infatuated with for a lifetime. She knew Sehun's personality better than anyone else. If he did not want something, he would destroy it, never allowing anyone else to lay a finger on it.
Seeing her disbelief, Sehun forced a bitter smile. He wanted to deny it too, but time had already revealed the truth. In the past, he had tried to suppress his feelings, claiming it was all a lie. But today, when he saw that teddy bear, he lost control once and for all.
After realizing that she did not love the person she initially liked, he had spent the entire afternoon feeling restless, as if he would lose his chance to reconcile with her if he did not take a step forward.
So he came. He wanted to find out if it was really as he suspected, and if there was even a tiny bit of reluctance in her heart toward him. But he found out that Lisa had completely let go of him. She had discarded her feelings for him over the past ten years so effortlessly.
Regarding Sehun's attitude, Lisa had no other thoughts except amusement. His belated affection was as worthless as grass. In her previous life, he had caused her a miserable death on the streets. How could she possibly change her mind now?
Sehun stood in front of her car, refusing to move. Lisa did not bother driving and hailed a taxi on the roadside instead.
Sehun saw her intention and had a few bodyguards stop her.
Lisa was no fool. She did not engage in a brawl with professional bodyguards. She glanced at Sehun impatiently. "What do you want?"
"I have a question for you," Sehun struggled to control his emotions. "Ten years ago, did you mistake me for the person who gave you the teddy bear?" Lisa did not avoid the question and replied, "Yes."
A heavy feeling of discomfort settled in Sehun's chest, a suffocating sensation like being engulfed by a tidal wave. He fell silent for a moment and then asked, "Did you like me because of the initial mistake?"
"What else could it be? Did we have any connection before that? Did you really think I had a secret crush on you all this time?" The sarcasm in Lisa's lips became even more apparent. She could not deny that she had been attracted to him personally during their ten years of emotional pursuit. But now, without the filter of first love, Sehun's arrogant and self-centered nature became even more evident. There was no redeeming quality in him that she could like.
Sehun took a deep breath. "Let's forget about the past. Let's talk about now. I'm willing to start over with you. Will you marry me again?"
Lisa looked at the man in front of her, wearing a smile that did not reach her eyes, "I believe you should have an answer to this question in your heart, Mr. Oh. You and I can never be together in this lifetime."
Sehun's heart sank to the depths of despair. "Is it because of Jungkook? Have you fallen for him?"
"Does it make a difference? Whether Jungkook is in the picture or not, I can never reconcile with you," Lisa's dark and silent eyes fixed on him. "Furthermore, divorcing me was your biggest desire, wasn't it? Hoping that I wouldn't cling to you was your dream, wasn't it? I gave in to you and Nancy, and now you regret it? When we got married, you were always thinking of Nancy. Now that you're with her, you come to pester me. I can't help but suspect if you have some kind of fetish, like infidelity? You're really despicable."
Bringing up Nancy finally cooled Sehun's temper. He had promised to marry her before... but now, he regretted it. However, after the recent car accident, Nancy once again saved his life by donating blood. He owed her his life twice already, and he could not betray her. Moreover, he did have some feelings for Nancy.
