After hanging up the phone, Lisa hesitated for a long while. Christopher stood beside her, sensing that something was amiss, and could not help but say, "After lunch, we have a meeting, and the land matters have already begun. If you leave now, it might not be very convenient..."
Honestly, Lisa did not want to get involved, but after all, it was a matter of someone's life. Since her rebirth, she had been particularly sensitive to these issues. If it were anyone else, she would extend a helping hand. Finally, after instructing Christopher, she assured him that she would return as quickly as possible and then went to the hospital.
When she arrived at the hospital, Nancy had been waiting at the entrance. Seeing Lisa, she immediately said, "I've taken care of the formalities. After you sign, please hurry over. We can't wait any longer..."
Given the urgency of the situation, Lisa could not afford to consider too much. She signed and then followed the doctor to have her blood drawn.
The blood-drawing process was swift, and after it was done, the doctor advised, "Miss Manoban, the amount of blood you just donated was quite substantial. A nurse will be administering an IV drip for you. Please wait here for a moment..."
Lisa nodded, but as soon as the doctor left, she stood up and left. Today's land project was a turning point for the group, and she could not afford any delays.
Once she got into the car, her head was still a bit dizzy, but she ignored it, determined to stay alert. Thankfully, there was still time. With sheer determination, even in her half-dazed state, she managed to push through and handle things before leaving with considerable effort. Perhaps the tension that had been holding her together had finally released, as her strength drained away, causing her to collapse.
In that moment of falling, she felt a familiar presence. She tried to open her eyes to confirm, but her eyelids were too heavy. And so, she slipped into unconsciousness.
With a stern expression, Jungkook glanced at Christopher and then carried Lisa away.
Christopher felt that even if he knew the person, taking away his boss like this wasn't acceptable. He wanted to step forward and intervene but was stopped by the smiling Eunwoo. "You can relax. My big brother won't harm your boss. Your work for today is done. Go home, take a shower, and rest."
Christopher was still uneasy, "How can this be..."
Eunwoo laughed, "Why can't it be? He's your boss's future husband, and he's very capable."
Christopher was speechless. Mr. Jungkook's friend is just as shameless as he is.
After Sehun's surgery, he was immediately transferred to the intensive care unit.
Nancy and Wei Caihong were waiting outside.
Wei Caihong whispered, "Sehun will be in the hospital for a few days. You've postponed all your work. Just stay here and make sure the first thing he sees when he opens his eyes is you. Let him see that you've been laboring for him..."
"Mom!" Nancy interrupted, "Sehun's car accident, did you arrange it? Just you?"
"The process isn't important; the result is. To get what you want, you need some means," Wei Caihong justified confidently. "From a street singer to where I am today, I've done everything. I'm well-versed in such matters. Don't worry, the driver's daughter has late-stage cancer and needs money. I'll give him that money, and he promised to take the blame and go to jail. No issues. He won't dare to speak out if he wants his daughter to live a few more years. From beginning to end, neither you nor I are involved."
Nancy leaned back in her chair, silent for a while. If that's the case, she must seize this opportunity and marry Sehun. With the title of Mrs. Oh, and then another child, even if the truth comes out later, she'll have an ace in her hand. "I understand, you can go back."
