Words couldn't describe Anthony's pain.

He had just lost the girl he loved the most.

And even only knowing her for a short time, he felt like he had a piece of his heart ripped out of his body.

But he knew what he had to do. He couldn't stay here- it would only be more painful. He needed to get back to New York.

...

Anthony took a dollar bill out from the wallet Blink-182 had given him and inserted it into the pay phone.

beep boop beeeeep boop bep bop beeeep bop boop

He held the phone up to his ear.

"Billie- something really bad happened. I'm coming back to New York."

"ANTHONY!" Billie seemed relieved that he was able to get back in touch with him. "Last night we got a text from Blink-182 about that- Wait, is Da-"

Anthony paused. "They killed Dani, Billie."

"What..."

"They showed up last night, along with Douglas McDoober. They fucking killed her and took the body." Tears were clustering in his eyes.

"I'm so sorry. I'm really sorry."

"There's nothing you could do about it. But at least you don't have to deal with this anymore-"

Billie seemed puzzled. "What do you mean?"

"I made a deal with them last night." Anthony said. "I'm going to return back to my band. They were gonna drop the whole deal. It's all over, Billie."

Anthony continued. "I didn't want anyone else to die."

Billie remained silent for a moment. "Do we need to come pick you up?"

"No, I'm getting a plane ticket as soon as I can. I don't want to stay here any longer."

He put the phone back.

Fuck Douglas McDoober. Fuck Blink-182.

How could this all happen? Anthony thought to himself.

Because of one small incident in a coffee shop.

He leaned his head on the glass of the phone booth, it was cold touching his bare neck.

She never made it up to Minnesota...

RHCP Mansion
The next day

You would probably think it was a normal morning if you had just walked in. It was a average American scene: breakfast cooking, the sound of people up and about, chatting and exchanging words with eachother.

Chad was at the stovetop frying eggs. It was a special day, with a sad backstory.

Today was the day Anthony was flying in to New York.

The events of the night before was frankly very hard to adjust to: Blink 182 murdering Dani at Douglas McDoober's command, and Anthony coming back home, hopefully to return to his band mates.

But even though Anthony had made a deal with Blink, everyone was still unsteady about the future.

What if Blink never stopped.

That wasn't something they could control.

"What time do we pick up Anthony from the airport?" Tre asked the other band members at the kitchen island, sipping coffee.

John shook his head. "We should be getting a call from him anytime."

Chad was still flipping eggs at the stove. Mike and Billie were fixing toast on the other side of the kitchen, and Flea was sleeping in.

Soon enough, the phone rang. Mike ran to pick it up.

"Anthony?"

"Guess who just landed."

Mike smiled at the rest of the guys behind him.

"We'll come and pick you up, as soon as we finish eating."

Chad turned around. "Fuck our food," he smiled. "Let's go get Anthony."

And so they did. The five of them (flea was still sleeping) hopped in the RHCP Van and started off to the public airport.

As soon as they pulled in, Anthony was sitting at a bench right outside of the airport. He had no luggage, just a wallet in his jean pocket.

The five guys ran over to him.

"ANTHONY!"

Chad and John engulfed their old friend in a hug.

Green Day stood aside, cherishing the happy moment.

Billie leaned over to his boyfriends. "Yknow-"

Tre and Mike looked back at him.

He continued. "I still can't comprehend what all happened these past couple weeks."

It was a moment of disaster, a moment of sadness. What started off as a silly coffee shop stop turned into tragedy. And what parts of it could have been prevented?

That was something that stood out to the three members of Green Day over the weeks.

Billie, Mike, and Tre ran over to Anthony's group hug and joined them, tears rolling down each one's eyes.

You never know when you're gonna need to mature. When you're gonna need to sober up. Because what started off as a childish dispute can turn into something worse in an instant.

And they were left with that.
