Aradhana's POV

1 week later!

"Chalo, Kaki, jaldi karo," I urged the helper, asking her to take the breakfast bowls to the dining hall. After a quick glance around the kitchen to ensure everything was in order and the gas was off, I started toward the dining hall, neatly pleating my saree as I walked.

But my steps faltered when I caught a glimpse of my reflection in the fridge. My lips felt dry, so I licked them, stepping closer to inspect my face. My neck looked slightly off like I had used too much makeup on that area.

"Kyuki tune kiya hai" With a huff and disappointment, I adjusted my pallu on my shoulder and tucked a stray hair strand behind my ear before moving forward.

"Morning, Papa," I greeted him as he approached the table.

"Morning, bacha," he replied with a warm smile as he settled down.

Soon, everyone began gathering at the table, and the clatter of cutlery filled the dining hall. I took my seat and glanced at my plate.

"Morning, Bhabhi!" Aakriti's cheerful voice rang out as she hopped over to the table.

"Morning," I replied, attempting a smile. She frowned, so I smiled wider, and she seemed satisfied.

"Come, sit, and have breakfast," I said, turning to call the maid, who came running. I watched as Aakriti settled down in her seat.

"Where's Bhai?" Aakriti asked, looking around the table as if expecting him to appear any second.

I froze momentarily, the question hitting me harder than I expected. Of course, he wasn't coming down for breakfast. Not after the way I snapped at him this morning.
