Lucy grabs a bottle of water from Tim's fridge and walks back to him with the plate of food and water in her hand, Tim was now sat up on the couch with his head in his hands.Lucy places the food and water infront of him on the coffee table.
"Eat. Drink. Sleep. You'll be good as new." She says and Tim looks up shakes his head and puts his head back down.
"No." He grumbles.
"Tim you're not helping your self. If you don't eat or drink this you will have a killer hangover tomorrow" Lucy sighs."I already had one, that's why I drank more this morning to smooth it over but I feel like shit" he grumbles.
"Tim eat and drink to atleast sober up" she asks and Tim rolls his eyes.
"Why are you helping me anyway?!" He snaps and Lucy flinches at his tone.
"Because. I am Tim. When I was struggling no one helped me! So I am always willing to help someone even if I don't like them!" She snaps making the end bit clear."Well if you don't fucking like me leave! I've known you what three four weeks? You're doing too much Chen." He snaps.
Lucy sighs and decides to change the subject and sit next to him.
"You were a military guy huh?" She asks with a weary voice."yeah. What's that got to do with you?" He snaps again suddenly feeling defensive, and memories of his own getting killed were flowing back to the surface.
Lucy didn't want to mention her husband right now, she wasn't ready to open up to someone she didn't trust or like.
"I was just asking. I seen your dog tags on the side of the counter." Lucy replies and Tim nods. He sits up and picks up a slice of toast and takes a bite."I was on service since I was 18 then until just under three years ago. Four tours...that's why when you said you're more successful than I am, it's true because I haven't been on the force as long as you. I've been on the force for two and a half year. Rookie, p2 and made the jump straight the TO. John is my second rookie. I was never home when I was on service..and me and my wife wanted kids..so that's when I decided to leave and settle down. But. I wanted to make something out my life, I still wanted to help people..that's when I joined the LAPD..and my wife got hooked on drugs" Tim opens up, he didn't expect to talk about his life with Lucy. It must be the alcohol playing with his brain cells.
Lucy doesn't respond..her husband was on service for the same amount of time as Tim..but didn't leave. Her husband got unlucky, and sadly died on service..Tim managed to leave before that happened to him...
"I'm sorry your life played out that way. And I'm sorry I said you're not as successful as me. Because you are, if not you are more successful. You made it out the army alive Tim..and I wish-"Lucy sighs before stopping her self from saying too much..she started fidgeting with her necklace looking away from Tim with glassy eyes, she really tried to forget about her husband but she couldn't. It's not fair that many people got out of service alive, and he didn't.
"Yeah well it is how it is isn't it. I don't have chance of happiness anymore." Tim grumbles taking a huge gulp of water.
"Don't say that Tim. Yes you do. You do. You will find your way out of this..a lot of men don't get out of the army alive. Life is too short to mess around Tim, and ruin it" Lucy says turning to him, her eyes slightly red and glossy.Tim notices her eyes and her tone and now it's his turn to ask.
"Are you okay?" He asks generally concerned.
"Yeah." Lucy nods, but that doesn't convince him.
"you don't look it Lucy.." he points out and Lucy shakes her head, she's gone months with out cracking and bottling her feelings..but now..everything was ready to blow."I've got to go. Sleep, you'll feel better." She says and gets to the door, the keys were already on the door, she unlocks it and leaves with out explanation.
Tim frowns his head was hurting, he felt dizzy and sick..but he was focussed on what the fuck has just happened. He runs his hands through his short brown strands of hair and lays down on the sofa..he'll speak to Lucy when they are at work, he needs to sober up and fix him self..before speaking to her.

Lucy jumps into her car and takes a few deeps breathes gripping her hands on the wheel.
She was shaking, her eyes filled with tears, her chest was tightening..she doesn't know what is going on..but that conversation with Tim has stirred up so many memories of her husband..Lucy realises she hasn't had real time to grieve him, she's just pushed her husband out her mind..but she can't grieve her husband. She feels like she needs to be strong for her son.she puts her head on the wheel trying to soothe her breathing but her phone started ringing.
She glanced over to see it was nearly lunch and Lopez was calling, she slowly grabs her phone and fumbles to answer."H-hello?" Lucy asks trying to cover up her unsteady voice.
"Hello..oh Lucy are you okay??" Angela panics when she hears her voice.
"Yeah..yeah I'm fine what's up?" She asks.
"Just seeing how Tim is." Angela answers and Lucy pinches the bridge of her nose.
"Yeah. Yeah. Right. He's fine, he..he is just abit hung over. He'll be back at work tomorrow" Lucy answers."Okay great. Lucy..are you sure you're okay?" Angela asks and Lucy lets out a breath.
"I will be." She sighs.
