Tim takes a seat in the corner of the room next to Lucy.
"I take it you have questions" Lucy sighs and Tim glances at her and lets out a chuckle
"That's an understatement" Tim laughs sarcastically, he wasn't going to tell Lucy he knew Cole.."well I have a son." She laughs, nodding towards the 4 year old.
"I can see that." Tim smiles looking at her son.
"I'm sorry about breaking down in the waiting room" Lucy says shyly.Tim shakes his head.
"Hey. You don't need to apologise, you had every right too..especially everything you've gone through.." Tim says softly.
"Yeah but I broke down to you..like we hate eachother don't we?" Lucy says seriouslyTim shrugs "I suppose I can tolerate you now" Tim laughs, Lucy rolls her eyes and hits his shoulder, they both laugh.
"I am going to go bankrupt after he wakes up" Lucy rolls her eyes and Tim raises his brows
"how's that?" He asks and Lucy shakes her head
"I promised him I will buy him anything he wants for being brave" Lucy sighs regretfully."Ah well if that's the case, he should get the biggest most expensive toy ever"Tim laughs and Lucy shakes her head.
They sat there in silence for a few seconds until Tim breaks it.
"I'm sorry." He says out of no where, Lucy frowns at him."What for?" She asks.
"I've been a dick to you ever since your first steps in the station, I judged you straight away..I thought no one else could have a hard time but me..I never ever thought about what you could of been hiding..and I've been a dick to you. And you are a badass Lucy,..being a single parent, while on the job and your husband passing less than a year ago. That takes a lot of strength" Tim says softly and Lucy shakes her head."I accept you apology but I am nothing but strong. I've bottled everything up..god I haven't even had time to grieve or break about Cole..I've had to be strong for Oscar..because Oscar lost his daddy..I just can't focus on my self, not right now.." Lucy says tearing up.
"hold on..you haven't grieved or went to grieving therapy..or nothing?" Tim asks and Lucy hesitantly shook her head."Lucy..I know you think that you're trying to stay strong for your son..but believe me it'll benefit you both if you deal with your demons..you can't plaster a fake smile on your face forever, the longer you wait the worse the breakdown it would be" Tim says softly.
Lucy shakes her head." I can't Tim. I don't even have time to go to the toilet on my own without Oscar following. I can't have anytime to my self to deal with my demons. And including work and Oscar I don't have time to be torn apart by a shrink to relive all the toughest times of my life." Lucy shakes her head.
"So you have absolutely no one?" Tim asks and Lucy shakes her head."My parents disowned me years ago, Cole's parents are dead..I have no family no siblings no one. It's always been me and this little guy" Lucy admits and Tim shakes his head, he feels gut sorry for Lucy..even worse now he knows that Cole is her husband..he owes it to Cole to look after them.
They couldn't speak much more as a small voice filled the room.
"momma" Oscar mumbles softly waking up.
"Oh my gosh my baby" Lucy stumbles getting up and running to him."My arm hurts" he mumbles and Lucy ruffles his hair.
"I know. But you were so brave my sweetie" she says softly.
"Now your mom can buy you the biggest toy you can find" Tim smirks from the door, he moved out the way abit so he could give Lucy and Oscar abit of space."Tim!" Lucy snaps at Tim and he laughs and shakes his head.
"I'm going to update grey, I'll bring you guys some food" Tim laughs walking away."Mommy who was that?"oscar asks when Tim leaves the room.
"A idiot who works with mommy" Lucy laughs shaking her head.
"He seems like a nice idiot" Oscar smiles and Lucy nods.
"Yeah."Are we enjoying where this is going?
