Christine was in her room when Erik opened her door.

"I'm taking you somewhere special today." He said.

"Oh really? Where are you taking me?" She raised an eyebrow.

"It's a surprise." Erik smiled.

"Then by all means, sir, lead the way."

Christine sat nervously in his car.

"Are we almost there?" She whined.

"You've taken this ride twice before."

"Well, yeah but the first time I was drugged and the second time I was just eager to get home."

"How do you know that we're going to the house?"

"Because you turned on that interstate back there and I remember that you did the opposite of that when you took me home."

"You are too clever for your own good, Christine."

She laughed and flicked on the radio.

"You need to get into modern music, Erik." She looked at him.

"I'll stick with my classical pieces, thank you."

"That wasn't a choice."

Christine turned the volume up and started singing. Erik leaned back in his seat slightly and listened to song after song play.

"I kind of like this one." He said.

"Really?"

He nodded.

"See, I knew I could get you into it." She giggled.

As the song played, Christine sang along and pretended to play the drums when it came up in the background.

"We're here." Erik said, pulling up to the house.

"I missed this place."

He smiled and walked around to open her car door. He stopped her and wrapped a blindfold around her head.

"What are you-"

"Just trust me."

He led Christine by her wrist.
"It feels like we've been walking forever."

"Do you ever stop complaining?"

"Rarely."

Erik stopped her in a cold area. She moved her head as if she were looking around but she couldn't see anything.

"Are you ready?" Erik sounded excited.

"Yes." Christine held her breath.

He took off the blindfold and Christine opened her eyes. She automatically let all of her breath out in awe. She was in the same cave she had been in the night she was visited by her mother. The cave had changed, though. Icicles hung from the ceiling and the waterfall was frozen over. The ground was covered in fluffy, white snow and small, pink flowers stuck out of the ground.

"Oh my gosh. How did you-"

"I looked for it last weekend and I decided that you would want to see it again."

"It's beautiful. Thank you so much." Christine hugged him.

Once they broke apart, she shivered slightly. Erik took off his coat and wrapped it around her.

"How are you not cold?"

"I have a very high tolerance for many things, dear."

Christine sat on a large, flat rock. Erik sat down next to her and put his arm around her.
