Christine had moved in with Erik after the honeymoon. They spent every day together. They had thought that everything was bliss until Christine got a call from a certain someone.
"Hello?"
"I'm outside. Get in."
Christine rolled her eyes.
"William, I'm married now. There's nothing you can do that will bother me."
"That's sweet." He said, sarcastically. "But that's not why I'm here."
Christine raised an eyebrow as he hung up. She walked outside and got in William's car. He sighed.
"They're coming for you." He said, quietly.
"What?" Christine felt her face turn pale.
"I know I told you I was the only one left, but I was wrong."
She took a deep breath and let out a whimper. William looked at her.
"I'm sorry. But I'm going to do whatever I can to stop it."
Christine said nothing and got out of the car, running back to the house. She slammed the door and rested against it, trying not to dry heave. Erik walked into the room, seeing his wife hyperventilate.
"Christine? What is it?" He ran to her, helping her to sit down.
She explained through sobs and Erik nodded intently while listening to her.
"Angel, I told you when I first took you that I'd never let anybody hurt you. I broke that promise once and I'll be damned if I break it again." He held her close, stroking her hair.
A week had passed of Christine keeping on her toes and just as she was calming down, something happened. Actually, not just something. The thing.
Christine and Erik were sitting on the couch when Erik got a phone call. Christine was petting Ayesha when Erik briskly stood.
"Don't you dare- damn!"
Christine looked up with wide eyes.
"What is it?"
Erik took his mask off and ran a hand over his face.
"They- they took Gustave."
Christine stood up quickly. She inhaled a shaky breath and looked at Erik. He nodded and walked upstairs. He reached up to a high shelf in his closet and pulled down a box. He swiftly took out a gun and bullets, loading it. Walking back downstairs, he kissed Christine's head and began to leave.
"I'm coming with you." She stated, running upstairs to change.
"Christine, it's not safe."
"So you can go and I can't?"
"I'm not the one carrying our child." He said, pressing his hand to her stomach.
Christine and Erik had found out they were expecting soon after returning from their honeymoon. She was several months along and showing quickly. Nobody knew, though. Only the two of them, and of course, Nadir.
"It's my dad. I can't leave him." She said, tears in her eyes.
Erik looked at her, pushing a curl behind her ear like he loved to do.
"I can't risk it. I won't lose him." He said, pulling her face close to his.
Christine pulled away.
"Nadir!" She called.
Nadir walked in the room, looking up from his newspaper.
"Allah, why do you have a gun?" He looked at Erik with wide eyes.

Hayran KurguHi everyone! This is a story I started a few years ago and just recently finished. I'd like to give a few warnings for mature context and mentions of SA/suicide. I also am not in any way romanticizing kidnapping, just wanted to put that out there. H...
