Taehyung held me close for what felt like an eternity. When he finally pulled away, his hands gently slid down to take mine.
"Come on, let’s go," he said softly, his voice calm yet firm. I could only nod as he led me towards his car, my thoughts still swirling from his sudden appearance.
As we walked, a question bubbled up inside me, and I couldn’t hold it back any longer. "Bu-but... how did you know I was here?" I asked.
He stopped in his tracks, turning to face me. Instead of answering, he pointed up at the sky.
"The sky is beautiful, isn’t it?" he said, his voice carrying a sense of peace I hadn’t noticed before.
I blinked, momentarily confused by the shift in conversation, but I glanced up at the sky. The deep navy blue stretched out endlessly, dotted with stars that shimmered faintly against the darkness.
"Of course," I replied, my gaze drifting over the horizon. "The sky is beautiful, and...it’s making the sea even more beautiful." My voice trailed off as I realized he hadn’t answered my question.
We continued walking, and soon we reached his car. That’s when I remembered—my car was parked just a little ways off. "My car is over there," I pointed, feeling slightly awkward about the situation.
Taehyung turned to me with a mysterious smile that made my heart skip a beat. "I know," he said simply. "But we’re going home together."
I frowned slightly. "What about my car?" I asked, feeling a bit uncertain.
"I’ll call the driver," he answered without missing a beat.
I let out a soft sigh, accepting that I wasn’t going to win this one. "Okay, but let me grab my phone and a few files from the car first," I muttered, heading in the direction of my parked car.
After gathering my things, we returned to his car, and I slid into the passenger seat. As Taehyung started the engine, the tension I hadn’t realized I was holding onto began to fade. The drive back was quiet but comfortable.
I glanced out the window as the city lights passed by, feeling a strange sense of calm wash over me.
After picking up our food from the restaurant, we drove back home in comfortable silence. The smell of freshly cooked dishes filled my senses, making my stomach rumble softly. Once we arrived, I headed upstairs to wash up and change into something more comfortable. After putting my hair in a messy bun and slipping into a cosy outfit, I made my way downstairs.
Taehyung was already busy, unpacking the takeout and placing everything onto plates. He looked focused, his brow furrowed slightly as he carefully arranged the dishes. I walked over and began helping him, carrying the plates to the table. As I placed the last dish down, I felt his gaze on me. I glanced up, meeting his eyes briefly before we both sat down to eat.
As we sat down to eat, we chatted about our work. The designs for the first launch were finalized, and the next step was to carve the pieces. My workshop at Vista was where most of the work would be done, which explained why I was often absent from Kim's office.
"Now that our designing process has been completed, we're carving first lot of ruby and diamond collection," I explained.
The conversation flowed smoothly, but a lingering question tugged at the back of my mind. I couldn't ignore it any longer.
“You still haven’t told me how you found me at the beach,” I blurted out, my curiosity getting the better of me. “It was unplanned, so how…?”
He smiled, his eyes twinkling under the soft glow of the kitchen lights. “I have my ways,” he replied, his tone teasing and playful.
I frowned, not entirely satisfied with his cryptic answer. “You followed me, didn’t you?” I accused, my voice rising slightly in mock indignation.
