Ch7 Trying to get back in the dating game

At first, I spent the first part of 91 trying to get past Steve's death. It was hard on everyone. When I went to the job interview at first, they told me I was too young and didn't have the experience. When I told Nikki about it, he went to the school. It was a good private school and I'm not allowed to say the name of it since most of the students are kids of famous people and such. There was a few that was famous themselves.

Anyway, Nikki went to in the school with Alan a close friend of his and told them either let me in or he wasn't going to send his son there. Alan told them they'd take them to court for being racist and for being discriminative or whatever. Anyway, I couldn't believe they made a big deal out of it.

Nikki came to me taking me to lunch one day. I believe it was sometime around March. Steve's birthday was very hard for me and I was now a little ticked off that Phil just told me they got Vivian Campbell but said they weren't replacing Steve but at the time I took as they were. A lot of fans took it that way as well. "Got some good news for you." Nikki said to me as we sat at the mall to have lunch. He's a mall rat so when he wasn't doing nothing, you'd have to catch him there.

I looked around and noticed he was bouncy. "Nikki isn't your wife go..."

He rasped me "Fuck her man. No seriously. Alan and I went to the school and you start teaching next school year which is at the end of August. My son will be in your kindergarten class."

"Nikki isn't your son a couple months old now?"

"Ah yeah but I know you will be his teacher one day." I felt my face burn. "Mm sorry I got to go. I'll tell T-bone you said hi. I'll see you around." He left all giddy and I sat there for a little and then shock my head.

The next few years were rough for me. I worked so hard to pay Nikki back and ended up working for him during a tour they had John with them in 93. They played so many pranks that tour with each other it was pretty fun when they let me in on it. Nikki got me good, but I teamed up with John one night. "John, you want to get Nikki back?"

"Hell yeah. What do you got in mind JJ?" He said rubbing his hands together.

I brought out two big boxes of pastry stuff out. "Well Brandy and T-bone told me Nikki has a horrible sweet tooth and since you're all supposed to be on a healthy diet..." John smiled from ear to ear taking the boxes. We put them in front of Nikki's door and hid to watch him as he opened the door after John knocked.

He looked around and picked up the boxes. John high five me and I went to the work out with them later on. When Nikki started struggling to get through his workout and the trainer said, "Nikki mind explaining why you're having a difficult time this morning?"

John fell over laughing his ass off as Nikki started stuttering having a hard time doing his sit ups. I started to laugh and Tommy looked at me funny. "What did you and John do?" I kept exercising.

"What's a matter old man can't keep up?" I said jogging in front of Nikki as he now was trying to exercise on the bike there. We all laughed.

"Yeah laugh it up I'll get even with you two." I told Tommy what we did later but before Nikki could get me back the summer ended and I had to go home to get ready for the school year. I really didn't celebrate my 21st birthday. Anyway, I went to Ireland for Sav's wedding in November that year.

I was beginning to think I wouldn't find Mr. Right but truly there's no such thing. I really didn't want a relationship anyway. While I was in Ireland I went to London where Steve was buried. Actually, he was buried in Sheffield, so I went there.

I put some fresh flowers on his grave and sat there a bit. "Phil and Jackie are getting divorced. I can't believe Vivian is playing in your shoes. I guess things don't last. I still miss you and I light
candles on your birthday every year. Did you see what we did to Nikki? Ah Stephen you would be so proud on how I pulled my first prank off."

I sat there enjoying the peace until a bucket of blood was dumped onto my head. I jumped seeing the blood and turned to see Nikki running through the cemetery jumping over stuff saying, "Excuse me, sorry." And then he laughed. "Pay backs a bitch."
