The day after McKay's party, Juliana was hungover in Nate's bed while he took care of her, bringing her popsicles and Gatorade, rubbing her back and putting on her favourite reality TV shows, which she always loved to watch when she wasn't feeling well.
"Thanks for looking after me as always," Juliana mumbled, she couldn't speak too loud because her head was pounding. "I'm such an idiot."
She cringed as she vaguely remembered discussing with her friends about finding someone at the party to have sex with for the first time.
She wasn't a prude by any means, but she certainly didn't want to lose her virginity drunk at a party to someone she just met. She couldn't even remember the guys name who she was dancing with.
"You know you don't need for thank me, Angel." Nate continued gently rubbing her back, enjoying how soft her skin was. "I'm still fucking pissed at myself for not finding you sooner."
"It's okay, nothing happened at all. Thank god. Can you imagine, me sleeping with that guy? I can't even remember his name." She groaned and buried her face into the blanket.
Nate froze for a moment, heat rushing to his face. She hadn't mentioned before that she was thinking of sleeping with the piece of shit who was groping her the night before. "What do you mean? You were planning on getting with him?"
Juliana took a deep breath, it was clearly still a bit of a struggle for her talk with how sick she felt.
"Not really, I remember talking with the girls about finding someone at the party for me to lose my virginity to. I know it sounds stupid and I don't think we were serious. Obviously we all drank too much. I'm just glad it didn't happen."
It took every ounce of willpower for Nate to not lose his fucking mind. Even though he didn't know when he'd ever be able to tell Juliana how he felt, he always just assumed it would happen, and that he would be her first and only.
The thought of some jackass taking her virginity, someone who didn't even care about her, made him want to punch a hole in the fucking wall.
He wanted to crack all of her stupid little friend's heads together, too, for encouraging her to do something like that.
"Would you really want that? To lose your virginity to some dickhead who doesn't even love you?" He asked in a strained voice, absolutely disgusted at the thought.
Sure, he had sex before with several different girls, but nothing was ever serious or lasted long.
That, along with his good looks and well known mean streak, gave him a reputation of being a man whore, but he only slept with those girls to fulfill a need, and he pretended and wished they were Juliana the whole time. He had to do something to keep his self control in check around her.
