"That was the cutest costume I've ever seen," Juliana said, closing the front door after giving a handful of candy to a little boy dressed up as a fluffy lion.

"You've said that about everyone who's come to the door so far." Nate pointed out with a laugh as he poured more mini chocolate bars into the big bowl they had laid on the porch bench.

"That's because they're all the cutest, you can't just pick one!"

It was Halloween night and Juliana and Nate were at her house, getting ready and handing candy out to trick-or-treaters.

They always dressed up in matching costumes, ever since they went trick-or-treating themselves, and this year they continued the tradition.

He was dressed as a prisoner in a black and white striped outfit and she wore a two-piece black and blue police officer costume paired with fishnet tights and black high heels.

After two more trick-or-treaters, Nate checked the time on his phone. "I don't think we'll get anymore now, it's almost 8:30."

"Yeah, we normally don't get any this late. I'm almost ready to go."

She took off Nate's hoody that she had been wearing to answer the door, since her costume showed a lot of skin and she didn't want to greet any kids in it.

She then went back into the bathroom across from the kitchen to put the finishing touches on her hair and makeup. Nate followed her and leaned against the door frame, looking at her in the mirror.

"Are you sure you don't want to leave my sweater on? Or maybe put on leggings? I think that would look good." He commented, trying to sound like he was joking when he clearly wasn't.

He had already tried to convince her to add something to her costume that would cover her up a bit more. He hated how revealing her costume was, knowing that everyone would be getting a good look at her taut midriff and long legs that were barely covered by the skirt.

She laughed in response as she applied her lipstick. "No, I think I'm good, babe."

They were going to Daniel's Halloween party, along with the rest of the population of East Highland High.
