"Hey girl," Juliana greeted Maddy as she sat down in the desk beside her in their last class of the day.

"Hey bitch!" Maddy looked up from her phone that she had been texting furiously on. "We're going out tomorrow night for Cassie's birthday, since she'll be with McKay next weekend on her actual birthday. You have to come."

It was Friday before a long weekend and it seemed like the whole school was abuzz about their plans for the three days off.

"I probably will," Juliana replied as she took her textbook out of her backpack.

"You said you'd definitely come to our next girls night!" Maddy exclaimed. "You can't miss Cass's birthday celebrations. Plus I think BB is like, over the bouncer guy, which means he might not be letting us in much longer."

"That didn't last long, even for BB."

"Are you surprised?" Maddy snickered and rolled her eyes. "But don't change the subject, you'll be there, right?"

"Okay, yes, I'll be there."

"Yes bitch! Pre-drinks at my place. Text me when you know what you're wearing!" Maddy said, glad that she convinced Juliana to go. She was happy for her and Nate but she had been so boring ever since they had gotten together.

After the final bell rang, the hallways were a blur of people rushing out, eager to be done school for a few days. Nate was never hard to spot in the crowd though, being so tall.

He had his usual serious expression on until he spotted Juliana coming towards him and he broke into a smile.

"Happy Friday!" She said before standing on her tippy toes to kiss him.

"Happy Friday, beautiful, I can't wait to have you to myself all weekend." He replied with a grin when they pulled apart.

"Me too, well, except for Saturday night."

She was looking forward to going out with her friends, and she knew it was also a good opportunity to see if Nate was serious about controlling his anger and not being so possessive.

"Why? What's Saturday?"

"I'm going out with my friends for Cassie's birthday."

Nate wanted to lash out, but he really was trying to be better for her. He took a a deep breath and didn't answer immediately, knowing that if he opened his mouth right away he would say something he would regret.

"I'm sure that'll be fun." He finally answered in a strained voice.

Juliana knew his response was extremely forced, but she also knew that meant he really was trying for her.

"Yes, definitely, and other than that you have me all weekend. We should do a movie night tonight! We haven't done that in forever."

"Sounds good to me." Nate answered as he took her hand in his, making their way towards to his truck.
